Need to see more of him with the ball. Getting 2-3 overs here and there gave him no chance
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Why didn’t he bowl more?
Isn’t he a bowling alrounder.

Should of bowled instead of Starc.

Green and Puk are lockins in the XI.
As ordinary as the batting was, its just #5 we need to sort out. And any test given to an ordinary 33yo in that spot is a wasted opportunity for a younger gun.
But seriously our much vamped bowling attack couldnt put away a side in the 4th for two games in a row (to add to the loss grabbed from the jaws of victory in the last Ashes series.
And Lyon and Starc were serial underperformers this series. Maybe if they had been injured and Swepson ans Paterson played...who knows? Both had good shield starts.

Absolutely he is just a deadset winner.

India of old would have gone into their shells and tried to bat the day for 180 and get a draw, this new India, with the IPL/T20 behind is actually making test cricket even better. Aussies didn't really have any answers to a team that counter attacked, they ain't used to it.

Deadset any younger generation who didn’t get to see Gilchrist just need to watch Pant to get a feel for what we experienced.

Cricket is a selfish sport.. especially if you're a batsman.

My money would be with the Indians from here... one thing i think is certain - the Aussies cant win.

Paine lacks creativity as a captain and the bowling has been questionable with the exception of Cummins.

Yep, aussies are used to being bullies not only at home but the GABBA.
Not discounting India's ridiculously good batting in last 2 x 4th innings in tests, perhaps the 36 in Adelaide was the worst thing for Australia and the bowling unit?
Captaincy was boring and defensive.
Why was Paine being defensive when a draw wasn't going to suffice today?

A draw would have seen us remain #1 on the Championship rankings.
The loss has seen us slip behind India and NZ.

Will this finally be the wake up call CA need? Second straight series we have dropped at home to India.

Fans are furious and have been for a long time - enough with the selecting of reputations, enough of compromising our premier first class cricket format for T20 shit which standard is dropping more each year.

Stop promoting free swing of the bat and invest back in technique, patience and pride.

Earn the baggy green through performance, not based on if you’re going to increase ticket sales.

I feel that CA doesn't place that much importance on test cricket anymore, unfortunately.

Was the India’s bowling injury crisis a blessing in disguise.

We played the same 4 all series and given the covid crisis potentially weren’t a peak fitness. We were out on our feet on the last day of each test.

Did their fresher bowlers play a role?

This has been one of the most enjoyable series in recent memory on home turf. India found another level time and time again against an A grade bowling attack (but with a strange game plan) and a B/C grade batting line up (form wise).

Well done India. We clearly don't deserve to be no1 test rank nation. India clearly do.

Nah was genuinely interested. I felt he had been less effective since we haven’t seen much reverse in recent times.

I’m presuming he had a very good series against the Pakistanis
