Did Shane Warne just have another crack at Steve Waugh? Referenced someone giving the strike to tailenders to get red ink and boost their average.

Adam Zwar
@adamzwar
Warne talks about farming the strike to protect the tail: "Some people though, expose the tail. And also like their not outs." Yet another dig at Steve Waugh. Poor form to continually dig at someone when they're not there. If they're there, fine. If not, it's gutless.

Having met Steve Waugh briefly after his retirement I don't think he would care to much of what Shane Keith Warne had to say!

Smith's 131 was his 27th test match hundred and his 8th against India. He joins Kohli, Graeme Smith and Border on 27.
Michael Clarke and Amla are on 28, Bradman is on 29 and Chanderpaul and Hayden are on 30.

The Australian disMIssALs

WARNER : slash, cannot condone him, its his style, one the greatest ever batsmen EVER on Australian pitches
PUCOVSKI : LBW just missed the ball- batted well
LABUSCHAGNE : good ball, no prob with the backfoot push
SMITH : run out - brilliant fielding - batted well- loved his 20/20 batting at the end
WADE: Im all for Matthew being attacking , but that shot was
GREEN : lbw- play sum shots - please
PAINE : Bowled, good ball
CUMMINS : ordinary defence
STARC : tried to hit a 12, thats the best way for him to bat, well batted
LYON : ordinary defence

Good on Mitchell Starc today, showed the way 24 off 30
He came n after GREEN/PAINE/CUMMINS faced 44 balls for 1 run- and gave the Indians the initiative

A mate of mine with an extensive inside knowledge of the game (at this level) often says any bloke appealing from point for an LBW is just a cheat.

And that's the bloke he means.

With Warner now plonked at 1st slip, does he stay there when Lyon comes on or does Smith go into slip and if so, where do we hide Warner?

I like Langer, but if they have to hide Warner in the field the whole game, and he fails to score 2nd innings runs then Langer should pack his things and hand in his resignation for selecting him.

We are in unknown territory. Australia has never made 338 in a Test innings before. Now an unbroken sequence between 301 and 370 as totals that Australia has made.

There are 35 unique innings totals between 0 and 159 that Australia has not made (without regard to wickets lost), but only one between 159 and 301 - 206....

am Bays wrote:Worst dismissal today was Head

Burns out of form and got a Jaffa

Head’s shot choice and execution was of a Adelaide Turf LOD standard.

Gets bounced first ball and then pats Bumrah on the back and says good ball, As Terry Wallace once said “I ******* spew!”

Should be dropped and his paper stamped NTBPA.

Warner and Harris in

Burns and Head goneski

Find "Head" replace with "Wade"

F*** Me

@The Bedge It wasnt the love for Wade that made me post what I did 13 pages ago it is that based on recent performance he was less deserving of Head to be dropped.

After today he deserve the same scorn.

HE's the reason why we lost 4 fa 40 odd and lost the chance of pushing past 400.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The blokes a knob, just saw his disMissAL took him 10 minutes to get off the park, time Management had a word in his ears

On the other foot, picking India to get 450+, also good payout of the selectors by K'Okeefe on the Warner selection

There's your answer .... Smith at first slip and Davey fielding at 45 behind square on the leg side .... and not covering rhe ground all that well.
