I've heard from my source that there are a number of new players out there. A GWS academy player who never got drafted, a player from PA and Glenelg but no names. A few more coming soon. .

I'm pretty sure the Glenelg player is Seb Kerrish, think he played a couple of league games.

Sorry, clicked on wrong post. Definitely Eagles reserves!!!!!!!!

Yes a number of Eagles Reserves premiership players are out and about seeking opportunities elsewhere which is fair enough as the club feels they are probably not quite good enough to make our league team or don't suit the style of play the coach brings. All clubs have to make room for the emerging juniors and Eagles Reserves had too many ''good'' players at reserves level not quite good enough to press for league selection.

Who are these reserve players who have left? So far it is public knowledge that Hoff, Weidemann and Westbrook have left for other SANFL clubs. Who else is gone?

Port have just announced signings of top ups.

They include Luke Surman . Surely there is some rule that they had to be from ammos or country.

Pretty sure the requirements used to be they could only sign players that haven't been on an SANFL senior list for the last two seasons

Matt Appleton played league for North in 2018 and played for Port in 2019 including playing in their losing Grand final side

Don't know of examples before that.

AFL list, not SANFL list, in the last 2 years.

He wouldn't have signed, if it was permitted.

So now we have the situation where Port and the Crows can poach players from SANFL clubs with the lure of a potential AFL career? As well as using the AFL draft to recruit solely for their reserves side....Whale oil beef hooked...

I'm hearing Brett Hand will be announced as Glenelg's coach tomorrow?

I was going to post that myself and had my finger on the pulse, but palmed it off to let someone else point it out.

A round of applause to Mr. Hand for grabbing the glenelg job. He'll kneed to knuckle down though. I hope he doesn't handle it with kid gloves.

Let me spell that out ... poach SANFL players solely for their Reserves Teams directly from other SANFL clubs. Pretty sure they couldn’t do that when they were initially voted in... anyone know exactly when that changed?

Fair enough, i am fairly confident that something used to be in the restrictions for the AFL reserves sides from poaching other SANFL clubs players. It might have been at the very start and then changed, like the player can't be in the SANFL clubs best 35 or i could be totally wrong and that was just the suggestion on here
