Having a match is much more important to CA than having a match in Adelaide.

Simples. First test Gabba, fourth test Adelaide.

I can see Melbourne hosting back 2 back Tests.

Who would have thought this scenario 2 months ago?

Waiting to hear if the test selectors will ask Pucovski if he wants to open with Burns or Warner...

Pitch might start doing something by the end of the 2nd test.

Is the answer to bring back rest days?

Day 1 and 2 - really green.
Rest day.
Day 3
Rest day
Day 4
Rest day
Day 5

If you make day 1 more like a day 0, then day 5 becomes more like 7.
More wickets early on, more wickets on what is effectively days 5 and 7.

I don't like changing the game too much but playing on these roads that don't change isn't cricket anyway.

Cant see India getting close to the Aussies this time with Smith and Warner back plus they are far less settled with Kohli going home, Rohit not available till the 3rd test and ishant struggling to recover from injury. Aussies should prepare wickets with some life in them as we saw when India were in NZ at the start of this year they go to Water on those batting tracks, give them a road though and they will make it a lot harder for the Aussies.

Have noticed the last few days that we are really being conditioned to Burns opening and Pucovski missing out completely. Always amazed how CA constantly trots out the ex players to defend them. Ponting was the latest to side by CA although it was hard to hear him as he voice was muffled from being so far up CA’s arse

How piss weak that Warner's opinion is made public, surely the coach and selectors could sit down over a beer and have a chat with him but I hardly see that it weighs in.

Watch Pucovski against the short ball.
He takes his eye off the ball and turns away from it.
And that's at shield level.

He'll do well to have a summer in the nets facing Starc, Cummins, Hazelwood, Patto etc.

I think they'll go with Burns under lights at Adelaide, protecting the kid a little bit.
By test #3 (Sydney) where the conditions will be a little more friendly, I think that's when we will see the kid.

For what its worth, I also don't hate the idea of him coming in at 6 for the first series or two he plays but that seems to be an outdated thought on how to blood the new guys.

Don't get me wrong, I'd pick the kid at the top of the order and leave burns out, but I believe the above is part of the reason why Burns is still a chance to retain his spot.

Pakistan’s cricket tour of NZ is in disarray as 6 players have tested +, two historical and four newly acquired. They also breached the quarantine rules.
