So, 6am Sunday morning I'll be cranking up the smoker for the first time in 4 months, I have a 2.5kg brisket, a lamb shoulder, a pork belly and I'll pimp up some chicken wings to give to the neighbour for having to put up with the woft for the day, plus I'll take some of the product down the local at 4pm for happy hour.

It's probably going to be a 15-20 can operation and I'll be as much in my element as Andy Dufresne was playing Le Nozze di Figaro across the courtyard.

Just one question though for the specialists, shall I cube the pork belly or just go buy a different pork cut? I'm not overly fussed about creating crackle but I do know a method if I need to.

Sounds like the kind of day dreams are made of.

Just need a good test match on the tv and would be fully complete.

I did find a couple of old PS games that I can hook up for the day while observing too.

Had a beer, CC and Shiraz kinda hangover this morning to which I was giving tonight a miss.

A chick at work went out and got me a hamburger at lunch, I'm now looking forward to facing the first ball of the 4pm happy hour,

Beef jerky and half a pack of twisties and you’ll be ordering your 2nd pint in no time.

That opening pint this arvo.

I think I'll just nudge a few out to into the deep to begin with so I can enjoy the occasional single without using much effort and aim to be about 1.5 deep after the first hour, probably waste a bit of time talking shit to the other regulars.

The second hour will see the eye in a bit better and I'll start to work on the run rate as I'll have to maximize the powerplay (otherwise known as the happy hour), this will see the 2nd glass done at around 5:11.

As now the meat tray raffle tickets come into play and they reward a good strike rate the 3rd glass will be getting replaced at 5:27 as I've acclimatized to the conditions. With a couple of late regional horse races on mixed with a bit of Tokyo racing to keep a side interest along with some Cambridge harness racing in the NZ to try and jag a rough tri the run rate will start to peak as the 4th pint will be ordered around the 5:39 mark.

Hopefully a couple of wins lift the spirit as I push through knowing if I can aim for a 5:49er which will by me some time for a breather to get another powerplay beer ordered around 5:58 and possibly two more at the PP price if I'm lucky, a minimum of 1 extra is guaranteed though.

Time to slow down and preserve the intake after the clock strikes 6, the meat tray will be drawn at 7 and I'd prefer to avoid paying full tote odds for any additional pints unless I'm a fair way up on the punt.

The success rate on the meat tray's has been exceptional of late and they're pretty hand to have a cook up before heading down there for a Saturday session which is why I go to work.

Swing hard from the first ball, no need to get the eye in.

I'll take guard, think to myself "Plenty of time mate, no rush" then I'll proceed to try and hit the first one over mid wicket.

I'm keen for a slow innings after a few unexpected CC's last night, planned on just a couple of quiet ones to watch the Oaks but a barrage of hormonal texts dampened my day.

1.5 pints in the first hour, that’s Chris Tavare like. I’m more of a Chris Gayle, 2 pints in the first ten minutes

We've lost the toss, they're batting.

@Lightning McQueen, sorry mate, but I'm taking the new ball off the long run this afternoon.

I'm probably going to surprise the selectors and opt for an AFF. 2020 keeps on delivering the unexpected.
