The standard of umpiring in recent years has been F*&^%^&&G DEPLORABLE and nothing has changed.
BOTH Heads and Scotts LBWs were utter HORSESHIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously where do they get these blokes from to hold the bowlers hats? Thats right, cant even do that now can they? What a JOKE

Heads was clearly hitting outside the line of off stump. Ump would have to be blind not to see that

Scotts was clearly missing leg stump

Cant blame the bowlers for appealing so confidently because they know theyre so trigger happy.

Redbacks are rubbish , not disputing that but FFS theyre not helped by rubbish umpiring at the same time.

Liam Scott smashed his, was a clear deflection. How an umpire misses that is staggering! The other umpire is Rod Tucker who is on the International panel, he should have the power to over rule that sort of mistake

Were some shocking dismissals!

Head and Scott got terrible decisions, can’t do much about that, and Worrall was burnt by Ferg with a run that was never on.

Agar had no idea with the ball from Swepson but he is a Number 10 at best, Sayers could say the same thing.

Hunt, Bosisto and Neilson were just disgusting shots, and McInerney was not much behind them. Four of your top six batters should hang their heads in shame!

He is a class above Sheffield Shield level. Has played some great innings for Australia too, bit maligned on here due to his consistency, but I would rather him in the team than Wade.

My team would be:

Warner
Pucovski
Labuschagne
Smith
Head
Marsh
Paine
Cummins
Starc
Lyon
Hazelwood

Think they will still go Wade over Marsh for 1st Test, but reckon they will go Pucovski over Burns.

Ideally I think they will want Green at Number 6, then that gives them the option to play Swepson in Sydney and leave out a pace bowler.

Pretty good situation with so many players who will be unlucky to miss out.

S. Marsh has a FC average of 41 hardly a class above.

Yeah, nah.

His average in the Shield only just got over 40 two seasons ago. He's been playing for 20 years.

His performances for WA from 2000 to about 2017 were very average, although I'll admit he has had a couple of big purple patches in recent years.

We have a history of playing it safe with our selections, so don’t think they will go with two young guys in the 1st Test. Think they will go Pucovski, and Green will have to bide his time, think they will stick with Wade.

Correct - especially Scott's dismissal. That was an absolute disgrace. I wonder what the accountability is for the umpires who get it so wrong?
I have a mate from England who has said for many years that the umpiring standards here are so far behind what is in England. I've seen some absolute shockers in grade cricket as well and cannot understand how in this case he couldn't have either a) not heard the edge and b) not seen that the ball was clearly going down leg side.
I know our batting is poor but it also shows how quickly a game can change because of a poor decision by the umpires. Who knows if Head was given not out how long he may have batted for, thereby not having the other blokes come in and some of them get themselves out!!

To be fair he did appear to cop a stinker in the last round.

As others have mentioned on here, the standard of umpires in the first class arena are below acceptable. They get even more exposed when they are on TV every night during the BBL.
