Blackwood
Yesterday morning.

Played average. Lost 3 balls, 1 in water and 2 that could have been found, but I wasnt breaking any records so keep on walking[emoji3][emoji3][emoji3] outside of those shots it wasnt too bad.
Conditions werent too bad, it did get a bit windy at times, they have preferred lies up there, but only really needed in a few places.
Bunkers, I found a few of them, but they are probably the best bunkers outside of Lady Bay ive played.

Flaggy yesterday
Stroke

Played best for a while. More consistent for a while, albeit the Driver is now turning from a draw to a fade...[emoji57]

Course had plenty of water, but fairways seemed to be worse than when last played there 6 months or so. Bunkers weren't the best condition.

Ended up with 86 off the stick for nett 72.

Vines
Stableford

Well, a week is a long time in golf.....

Driver = slice....
Set up for the slice and then hit a draw

Greens were slower as grass starting to come through and i never made that adjustment to actually hitting the bloody ball...

Just couldn't get anything going at all....shanked easy little chip shots.

Atleast the weather was good for the 6points

Sat
Willunga
2 man ambrose

So with the forecast being for cyclonic conditions and floods, did fear the worst.

Been a few months since we'd played there. Course is in reasonable condition, certainly on par with Flaggy. Greens are good.

After last week I mixed up the bag a bit. Ball striking for most part was ok, certainly much better than last week. Driver behaved this week....

And as we know the weather didnt arrive. It did get dark for about 5 mins and a few spots, but that was it.

Mt Osmond
Stableford

Hadn't been up there for about 9-10 months.

Course has had a few changes over that time and upgrades to greens etc.
And its in great condition.
Greens are in brilliant and run quite true. But the subtle breaks can be painful.
Changed a bit of my set up, i tend to flair out my left foot and today worked on squaring it up.
Ball striking seemed ok with it.

So the front 9 was fairly ordinary with 14pts.

Back 9, no idea what happened but went on a bit of a Par streak...  and came home in 19pts, might have been due to wearing the shirt from Boons golf day up there and the magic started soaking in :D

Overall finished up with 33.

Willunga
monthly medal

The 20+yr old irons returned to the bag. So there were no great expectations. I do have a reverse grip on them that was probably done 15yrs ago[emoji23][emoji23]

Few hits in the net too loosen up. Then a few wedges. Its 10mins before tee time and go to grab my putter.....and I didn't put it back in the bag when i was cleaning up and reorganising the clubs and bag on friday night etc....

So the Driving for the most part was ok, irons were fair.
Ended up putting predominantly with 5i, but also used the 6i,7i,8i and hybrid....
Strangely enough my 'putting' with the irons wasnt as horrendous vs me with a putter. And of course this was duly noted by my mate...ffs
Who needs a putter!!!!!

So went around in 93. I'll take that. Gonna take a bit of getting used to the greens with speeds and subtle breaks etc.
And also work out which holes can be attacking on or just play defensively.

Few familiar faces from other courses down here who made the move for something different and a change in scenery.

I do envisage the course will get the better of me early, just hope in time I can get back on equal terms.

Willunga
Stableford

Day started off very ordinary. Found water on par 3 12th, went to salvage it and went ass up....[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] but did salvage it...
From there it was just a case of brazilians all day with the putter...
Handicap has taken a hammering....finished on 26pts[emoji849][emoji849]

Broke 90 for the first time off comp tees today with an 88 off the stick. Think I had 39 points, enough to win the b grade!
Was an absolute cracking day for it.

28 points at Echunga Sunday.

Hit it terrible but the course was still VERY soft. Should be tip top after this week's warmth.

Played a four rounds at Mirage Resort and Palmer Sea Reef whilst up at Port Douglass. Courses are unbelievable and a bit too flash for a pleb like me but we had a ball. Was interesting seeing the crocs just chilling in the water as you're about to tee off over their head. We just played ambrose each day and thought the prices were quite good. Around $100 a round which includes a motorised cart.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Best course in the Riverland these days? Used to be Renmark 20 years ago.

Got a week of R&R coming up in early December up there

Loxton or Waikerie, at least that’s what it used to be.

Will we see a reenactment of the 90s prelim final on the golf course where BC knocks in a 50footer to steal victory from Dutchy in an epic matchplay

Wouldn't bother with Renmark. Shocking course. Only 9 holes these days. Berri, Barmera and Loxton much the same and good courses and not much of a fan of Waikerie.
