Round 7 Norwood v South Adelaide Sunday 1410

Postby PanthersFan » Fri Aug 07, 2020 11:21 am

In my opinion the match of the round. Norwood cruised to victory last week and South suffered a narrow defeat. South must win to keep some distance inside the top 4 and a Norwood win sees them right in the thick of things. A salivating match up awaits. Norwood are always tough to beat at the Parade but I think the Panthers respond after last week.

My prediction: South Adelaide by a point (*prediction stolen from Doc).

Big game this one!

There appears to be 5 teams after 4 positions.

History would suggest Norwood too strong for South. Not sure what the 2020 version of South have to say?

South have a fair record at the Parade in recent years, don't they?

Anyway, Norwood's flag to lose.

I noticed Horne didn’t play for the U18s so either he A: is injured, B: was held out to play reserves because someone from the reserves is a late call up to the league team or C: was held out to be a “surprise inclusion” in the league team... or D: none of the above and I’m reading too far in to this :D

Horne to debut, touted as a No. 1 Pick in 2021, will watch with interest.

Yep, it’s more than likely win or go home - With the Bays, Cocks and Eagles to follow, we’ve gotta go no worse than 2-2 over this stretch to have any hope.

South played a good 2nd quarter. They look well on top of Norwood at 1/2 time.

This game is good to watch so far. Norwood had a good first quarter and South a good second quarter. South defence very tight in the second.
Jason Horne looks the goods, certainly knows where to get the ball and is a smooooth mover.

Norwood just don't have enough Mongrel factor, the South players confidently know they've got our measure in the muscle department. They actually play the good honest, get your hands dirty kind of football I wish we would.

Is there no more comforting sight for an opposition supporter than Emmanuelle Irra with the footy?

You know odds on the footy is coming back to you either through poor disposal or slowness in decision making.

You can never fault his effort though.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I didn't know he had anything to do with the soft-core adult movies of the late 70s-early 80s, no wonder he's comforting to watch.

Yeah, every time I see him playing for Norwood I write them off as a flag contender. Very ordinary.

Norwood over possessed the ball in the 1st half way too much, way too much, invites pressure, look much better when they kick longer instead of 20m.

Score at one stage was
NW 3-5
SA 6-8

Panos shifted into midfield kept getting the ball
NW became more direct- less mistakes

3/4 TIME
NW 7-7
SA 6-8

The Roger Woodcock end of the ground is the scoring end
SA going to that end, where 11 of the 13 goals have been scored
