Gee whiz....

Passengers flying from Melbourne to Sydney on a Jetstar flight on Tuesday night were able to get off the plane without undergoing a health screen for symptoms of coronavirus.

The major health breach, confirmed by Jetstar to NCA NewsWire, allowed some on board to enter the major city with no scrutiny.

A Jetstar spokesman said crew assisted health officials, who were reportedly not present at the time the plane landed, by locating passengers in the terminal.

The airline is not meant to let passengers disembark until health officials arrive

Given the circumstances I figured they'd be there well before the plane was due to arrive, I agree.

Health officials should be there waiting IMO[/quote]Absolutely they should but if they aren’t it’s up to the airline to hold passengers on board and radio through to the relevant authorities and they will dispatch staff ASAP. Both are in the wrong and will get hauled over the coals for it

The conspiracy theorist in me asks the question does the government want it to get away in Sydney again?
It has definite odour about it. After 4 or 5 months of this crap, the Ruby Princess, the stuff over locking the borders in the last few days, how could a government be so inept, unless of course they deliberately did it. Dont ask me why but these things dont happen by accident.

Andrews is really trying to double down on his political reputation now.
Still won’t bring in the Feds to help & trying to do it HIS way.
This is going to get a lot worse and, being the second biggest state economic wise, he will cane us all.

Not use rent a cops to guard quarantine hotels to start with.
The Feds have offered the services of ADF personnel and Dan decided that he didn’t want them

I know the Vics messed up the quarantine hotels, but that wasn't because they knocked back ADF personnel was it? It was because they used a dodgy security firm. Didnt the offer of using ADF personnel come after the damage was done? In SA we also used private security companies, but also had SAPD involved in the process. I agree the Andrews administration has messed this up, but don't see where he is ignoring advice from Feds. When NSW messed up the Ruby Princess people called for the Health minister to resign, not Berejiklian. In Victoria the buck stops at the Premier apparently .... politics.

Essentially metro Melbourne now there is debate about where that boundary lies!
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!
