Going to hold on for the moment.

I've read up enough to know Facebook and Google know more about me and my movements than this app will as the app is Bluetooth contact based not GPS tracking based, you can be well and truly tracked now, so I'm no concerned about privacy.

In SA, with our low number of cases and with my movements still restricted by authority I don't think there's much to be gained by me signing up, having said that if the evidence in 4-6 weeks supports the product as being valuable then once we start moving around a little more freely I'll probably be on board.

I'd say like many people I've got some mild concerns on a personal level but feel some community responsibility to enable it.

Holding at the moment.

Yep, landed last night.

Apparently bad for i-phone users as it's a battery killer.

As of 6am today it had been downloaded 1.1 million times

They expected it would take 5 days to get that total

Ideal uptake they're saying is 60% of the population, over 15,000,000 people. Can't see that happening.

Downloaded it straight away. Anything that helps get things moving is good by me. If enough people take it up we might get some restrictions lifted if not we stay as we are

Yep I've installed it. No hesitation. Can't see a logical reason why you wouldnt install it.

Conspiracy theories give people a voice, they can jump on the relevant "topic" at the time.
People worried about being tracked by the government but put it all over Facebook!
Couple of weeks ago it was all the parents "knowing" better than the government so kids must be pulled out of schools etc.
Noticed this morning at school drop off a few of those families were back at school today

Just hope those people who refuse to download it are not the same ones complaining about not being able to go to the pub or play local footy. ScoMo has said we need a good uptake of the app in order to return so some form of normal. FYI app was downloaded last night.

It's both funny and frustrating, I have two step-kids that think they know it all and think the world is out to get them, they try and put these theories into the wife's head..................................and she wonders why I go find a quiet room in the house and I'm happy to do nothing.

As for Facebook, that opens the door to a new breed of idiot, I can't even be bothered with it anymore, I've met smarter hammers than some of my associates.

Very true. I enjoy all the conspiracy theorists that are on Facebook, the very platform they are complaining about lol.

Wasn’t the parents “knowing” better, it was the parents not knowing what was best so erring on the side of caution. Since that time the experts have shown they have a good handle on it, but noone knew at the start. Main reason I sent mine back was because I felt it was detrimental to their education, social development and possibly health.
