Essendon fans - Daniher is an overrated flog
Also Essendon fans - Sydney must give us pick 5 and pick 9

No different than any other club.
Half your fans are saying Papley is overrated but want pick 9 for a small forward.
I want Daniher to stay but if he is leaving for $1m a year pick 5 will be the minimum IMO. Don’t see us getting pick 9 aswell but possibly a second rounder thrown in

That old myth hey. Hasn’t been that way for several years now since Dodoro had his power reigned in.
In the last 4 years every player leaving has got to their destination club and every player coming in has been done.
Fact: Zero deals with Essendon has fallen over in the last 4 years.
Contrast that to GWS making McCarthy sit out of football for a year, Geelong holding on to Kelly, Carlton and the Gibbs fiasco...........

It’s a big IF but if he is over his OP he could end up with multiple AA awards. Still young enough to have a very good career. If Papley is worth pick 9 then Joe is easily worth pick 5 provided he is fit

Let's face it, Papley is only worth pick 9 because we have to sweeten the deal, given he's contracted for another 4 years.

Generally speaking, he's a pick 20-40.

Papley is an out and out gun, 37 goals as a small forward in a team that doesn't try and score is a bloody good return.

Ease up, how many Swans games you watch? He’s no gun.

He ain’t a spud though. Very good small forward. Big loss

Going to where the flags are coming

Jack martin from gold coast didnt make their top 10 best & fairest, just a third rounder from carlton hopefully

Why why why are carlton wanting eddie betts grrrrr, hopefully we're just funking with the crows and not actually interested at all.

Puzzled as to why people are thinking Betts isn't a good fit for Carlton.

They've been taking kids for 4 years via the draft and trades, they've delisted dead wood over 28 and need some experience on the list.

With 5 young indigenous players on the list maybe more after this draft/trade, the experience of Betts, the guidance he can offer and the on field draw card is exactly what Carlton need. Imagine he snaffles a GOTY contender early in the year and Carlton are 3-1 after the first month, imagine the hype around them?
PAFC. Forever.

Partner living in Adelaide that won’t move and he is very family orientated. Probably more money on offer aswell now.
He has been fantastic off field for the club so it will hurt to lose him

Yeah, pretty heavily front loaded by all reports. Some speculation that it was the reason he split with his manager recently

I agree. If we threw the kitchen sink at him to get him, then I'd be worried. But for pick 80 odd, why not! Especially with Adelaide paying some of his salary too. Win win IMO.

Betts, Papley and Martin does seem a bit strange. Thought you might chase another bigger bodied mid to help Cripps out.
Reckon any punishment coming from the club for Cripps and Curnow?
