And what has Warner done exactly? Uzi looked ok in the first innings and he is predominately opening the batting anyway.
How many overs of that match did we bat under lights for? Seemed like a lot, may have something to do with how many times we got hit?

Got a good delivery from Archer but I think a change has to be made, I was already thinking swap Khawaja with Labuschage but if Smith is unavailable for the third test then Khawaja may keep his spot.

Perhaps Harris is now a good chance to replace one of the openers too, most likely Warner.

Wilson can’t even get the third umpiring decisions correct.
No way was that a catch off Labuschagne and Root knew it

Really pleasing comeback from the 1st test. Stokes while real lucky early played a terrific knock and is in the form of his life. Archer pitched it up a bit more and got rewarded plus leach did a really nice job so full credit to him.

If smith is out for the 3rd test im pretty confident of our chances.

Harris has to come in next game and Marnie also needs rewarding.
Top three needs a clean out. Bancroft gets tge reprieve in my mind. He has courage and with Archers tail up we need guys who will hang tough.
Uzzie has never shown that ability and ( as I foretold b4 the second innings) Warner is more shell shocked by Smiths injury than anybody else and will be a walking wicket...he is mentally done.

Warner has a history of performing all around the world, he has credits

Khawaja simply can’t be overseas, Khawaja isn’t close to teaching form his now performing the best he ever has on English soil which is still sub par.

Credits were used by being allowed back in the team in the first place.
Warner has 15 runs@3.75
Bancroft Ave 11.
Uzzie 22.
Wade a 2nd innings ton but scores of 1,6,1 either side of that is concerning.

Awesome innings from Stokes and showed he's the type of player that can take the game away from an opposition in a session or 2 and almost did.
Archer is now a huge trump card for England.
England will probably go unchanged for the third test? But how many more opportunities does Roy get?

Joe Root is a cheat

Usman gets out the same way all the time, a half hearted forward defence

Batsman know they can actually duck out the way right..
Dave Warner will be missed!

England will go in unchanged unless Anderson is fit.

I can see us making a change with the fast bowlers. I feel that this is the reason why Pattinson was rested for the 3rd test. He'll come in and it might be Siddle that makes way as Hazelwoods form is good.

Smith is an interesting one. Hope he gets up for it.

Maybe its playing so much flat track T20 and one day cricket these days that is contributing to players struggling with their technique against fast short pitched bowling?

Whilst a few players got sconned back in the day, 70s & 80s before helmets became the norm, they certainly didnt get hit as regularly as they do these days.

Helmets can = a false sense of security
In this test , from what I saw , Smith, Head, and Lab were all hit in the head area, all by the same bowler

QUESTIONS

Playing for a draw , late in the game
Why did The Lab[sweep] and Painey [pull]play such rash shots?

4 wickets left
3 balls to go
Why not bowl the last 3 balls, and maybe getting Cummins or Head, or more out ?
Only the batters should wanna walk off, in that instance
If I was Cummins when the game is called off , I would be contented.
Does anyone agree ?

Why did Head not take a single of the last ball of the 2nd last over ?
Why expose Cummins , and then maybe Siddle, Hazelwood and Lyon ?

Should there be a concussion sub rule ?
Plenty of players get injured, and cant bat or bowl in games
