One day semi finals on Sunday

Kensington vs Tea Tree Gully at Parkinson Oval
Glenelg vs Sturt at Gliderol Stadium

Hard to split the first one. 1st and 2nd in the two day competition. Gullies maybe?

Reckon Sayers will be an in for Glenelg. Their batting a fraction thin though with no Hoffman. Any chance Pudney or Doropoulos get a surprise call up? Strikers also play Sunday so no Carey. I reckon it will come down to who makes more runs out of Winter and Davis.

Interesting that Glenelg were the only club to make both white ball finals series.

Amazingly, Kensington and TTG start their 2 day game against each other on the day before, also at Kensy. May as well sleep the night!

Whoever bowls on Saturday in 37 degrees heat for 96 overs be at a disadvantage on the Sunday, important toss to win!

Glenelg rely on Winter, Plant and Bullimore. Sturt on Davis. Fancy Bays to win.

20 wickets in the day in the 2nd Grade at Prospect Oval (Sturt vs Prospect) and only two batters (one from each team) made double figures!

Was interesting going thru Port's team today, trying to work out how many of their juniors they had playing in the 1st Grade, could only come up with one - Aussie Umpherston?

Woodville - Benton, Sayers, Carter, McDonald
Glenelg - Kerr
Northerns - Giniotis
Uni - Cooper
Adelaide - Garlick
Unsure- Dilley and Jordy Thomas

Wonder why other Clubs get pi55ed off with them. Instead of trying to buy an A Grade flag, why not put that money towards their junior development programmes. We do this as we don't pay any players, then we find out they are targeting our gun recruit for next year and offered him big coin already. Weeksy is a sly dog, gotta watch him like a hawk as he targets so many players from other Clubs every year!

Kemau Leverock, was in the Advertiser on Thursday. Agreed to come back next year and play for us. Played the three Friday night 20/20 matches and dominated. Destroyed Port and Weeksy set up meeting with him that week to sign him up. Given his word to play at WT, see if money talks!!

A lot of players, mostly from England, agree to play but getting a visa is often problematic. Secondary years are where the problems start.

It pays to get this checked before making any commitment,

Just a rough look I counted 4 Port juniors in WT sides yesterday. Leverock?! 0 and a couple 40s hardly a gun recruit and not exactly dominating A1 just now either. Strange move given the strength and depth of West Torrens created by all that investment in the junior program

Think calling Weeksy a sly dog is abit harsh there Eagles, one of the good guys in grade cricket circles in my opinion and most others that have spoken about him.

Near on half of those players that you have listed were probably not playing A Grade cricket at those clubs at the time, so yes you could say that Port have gone and “bought” them... or perhaps they offered an A Grade spot which is pretty hard to refuse. Good recruiting maybe?

Think your issue should be with Leverock if he decides to choose Port over you guys after giving you his word, until he’s signed a regristation form at a club he’s free game isn’t he?

I reckon you are talking rubbish by the sounds of it again Eagles. Port have actually done a pretty good job over a number of years now. Have they recruited players of course but what club hasn’t. They have been able to keep them and they seem to be pretty successful. If your junior system is so great then why would you need Laverock?

Speaking of Port juniors, left arm quick Mackenzie Best looks like he'll be alright.

Nice action, tall and decent pace for an Under 16.

I’m not sure how you think throwing money at a junior program is going to help them, they’re junior training structure is excellent and A Graders don’t mind going out and helping with one on ones.
They’ve struggled for so long now there’s no attraction to go out there when there’s Woodville & Torrens just down the road, their only help to be more competitive is to get rid of whites in the 16’s at least.

Is what's in the paper correct?

Kelvin Smith bowled first ball and walking off but the bails, despite the stumps being disturbed, were still intact.
