Played Lady Bay last Sunday morning, first hit in a while.

Was blowing fairly hard, started well with a couple of pars.

Hit the ball pretty well, but found MULTIPLE bunkers throughout the round, including a couple of fried eggs in the bunker faces... Ahhhhh

Hit 29 points off 11. Was pretty happy considering I didnt really hole a putt of note.

Course in good nick, obviously dry. Have thinned the rough a bit too.

The Balcony afterwards is a thing of beauty with an almost 180 degree coast view.

Kudos to Simon in the pro shop too- gave us the 12+ player discount despite us having 11 players- $9 a head saving.

Just spoke with my Step Dad and were in! Bonus is, he is off 32 (Burglar) at the moment, he is far better than that.

(My mum and step dad’s place is right on the first fairway)

32+11= 43 divided by 4 gives us 10+ 3/4 for the day I reckon we can work with that! ;)

I’ll probably play in the Sat comp as well.

Stableford today, Not much to write about achieved the KPI's I set out to achieve when I play Stableford- (Don't scrub a hole, at least 30 points and less than 30 Putts)

Didn't feel I played consistent at all, this is highlighted by after 9 holes having 17 points with out a 2 pointer! 4x 3 Pointers and 5x 1 point.
Just down to getting the new swing right, consistency was always going to be an issue.

Obviously come in with 17 points as well a little more consistent on the back 9

34 Points
Didn't scrub a hole
28 Putts

Pennants tomorrow at Nth Adelaide South Course.

Pennants at Nth Adel yesterday we lost 3-5 overall. Our Div 1 got up 4,3 and a half our Div 3 got smashed 1-7

Well what a day. I started with Par for a half, on the second I had a birdie putt for the win but 2 putted for a half, all square walking to the 3rd tee solid start par, par to be square. Fast forward to the turn and I’m 7 down after 9! I parred 5 and 7 and still lost both holes WTF! After 9 my playing partner (in the other match) says Jesus he’s playing well, the bloke I’m playing replies yep, I’m 36 off the stick it’s my best front 9 ever! Yep just my luck.

Long story short I then just became a lot more aggressive with my shots and won a couple holes in a row to go down 5 and 4. I didn’t have a great day but the bloke I played didn’t miss 1 fairway literally not 1 and his short game was good. He throughly deserved the win. I’m happy I faught my way back it could’ve been real ugly.

Marion at home next Sunday. Hoping for a better outcome

Just a quick question Carey, what's the go with all the Teddy Bears hanging from the trees at Mawson Lakes. Makes it a bit creepy walking around the course.

I honestly have no idea!

They went up late last year, I've heard it was something to do with some orienteering exercise with the uni just behind the course.

Fair enough, we weren't sure if they were some kind of sacrifice to the golfing gods or something a bit more disturbing. :D :D :D

so had a week off last week mainly due to work and then the heat.

started off ok, I allow for a fade/slice on my Driver, and of course it didn't happen on the 1st, dead straight into the rubbish. had a clear shot between two trees that were about 15m ahead to get out, and bang, into a tree and I almost caught it as it came back to me. started off with 8.
move onto the 4th (14th) hit a 6i over the creek, then an 8i in, pulled it a tad, hit a tree and no idea where it ended up. so just move along with a 10. next hole, 2 6i to just inside 100m, hit a little runner, but started it a fraction to far out to the right, and I think it went over the mounds, path and into the hazard, the ball just kept running!!! . just take another 10. move along. I like the new rules. too many **** spend far too long looking for balls.
followed it up with 2 pars. 54 on that 9.

then again took a 10 on the 10th (1st), I managed to putt it into the sand. got out of the bunker fine, but it ran to just off the edge of the green. that was there for 7....oh well pick up, move along. next hole, back of the green in 2, the pin is back right, im not far away at all. I don't generally putt from off the green, but I did, and of course if didn't stop, off the mound and ended up in the grass just short of the bunker...… oh well just pick that up for 10, no point trying to play that hole out.

but in amongst that rubbish there was some ok golf, but it was more rubbish than anything. its clear that we haven't had any rain, the run on is just incredible, nothing stops, and looking quite brown.....I really need to start playing it as if it were a links course, it has a good lay out to be a links course.

so we end up with a 112...…..

What a difference 24 hours can make in this great game we call golf.

Yesterday I was all over the shop like a mad woman’s piss! Went out with 46 off the bat, but the worst part was 20 putts for 9 holes I was absolutely filthy, to the point I’ve told the Pennant captain I’m pulling out of the side for tomorrow, I’m not going to embarrass myself like this.
Ended up paring the last 5 holes of the day to get some respectability back to the score and finished with a Nett 73. (Felt far worse)

I cool down over a beer and agree to still play Pennants today and I’m seriously glad I did.

Put my first tee shot over the back of the green then chipped to within a foot for Par my opponent chipped on and 2 putted. 1 up, I then went on to win the next 4 holes, 5 up after 5 yep I couldn’t play any better. He Birdie 6 to take the hole. I won 7, halfed 8 and 9.

Turned after 9- 5 up 36 off the stick. And very happy. The bloke come back pretty hard but got the win 4 and 3.

Div 1 Got up 7-1, Div 2 Got up 6-2 and Div 3 4-4

Sandy Creek at Sandy Creek next Sunday.
