I listened to the last quarter. Thought the caller did a good job and Ben Warren on comments was good as well.

Undisciplined, only blame ourselves. West had 2 set shots on goal for west to give away free and norwood take possession, both in time on last quarter as well as a double 25m penalty to give norwood a goal.

Hats off to Westies, great effort shown all day, just let down by some costly ill-discipline late in the game.

Norwood really missed Baulderstones dominance around the ground. Quietest game I’ve seen Grigg have in years. Very happy to have Josh Glenn in the side, really kept us in it early and could easily still play AFL.

Panos was BOG by a mile.

Isaak Rankine gave both of those away. Noble having shot from 15 metres directly in front to put them 5 points up at 26 minute mark of last quarter, he pushes Norwood bloke over to have ball reversed, cost West the game.

As talented as he is, he is extremely undisciplined and needs to pull his head in. Has a big head. When captain of Henley High in their big Grand Final he did similar giving away 100 metre penalty to cost a goal in last minute to lose by a point. Kid just won't learn!

Why was Rankine playing. I thought he would be required for the U18 trial.

Is his behaviour and attitude likely to affect his draft prospects? Cost Westies the game today.. although his efforts probably put Westies in control earlier in the game!

Norwood won a game i struggle to see them deserving to win, they were slow to start, played the best footy in the first half of the 3rd qtr but kicked like 5 or 6 behinds in a row, WA went to the other end and bang bang put on a couple more.

Then huge first part of the last qtr, but once they hit the lead seemed to put the brakes on.. had Rankine not given away those reversals it’s hard to have seen them holding on.

Guess the good teams just find a way to win though.

Surprising to see the legs had $25,000 to spare in their salary cap at the start of the season to fit in Glenn!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had one eye on the second half- quite an entertaining, free flowing match. Bloods obviously shot themselves in the foot.

Poor form by Rankine. All his good work was undone by his horrible last qtr!
To have a free reversed once is bad but twice is just pathetic. It is even worse when on both occasions, we are lining up for goal!
A shot at finals is probably gone!
We also gave Norwood a 50m penalty in the last qtr which gave them a goal.
Good teams have discipline and composure. West Adelaide don’t have either.
Well done to Panos. His 4th qtr was unbelievable.

Watched the first half live on the DP then caught up with the rest last night. Good win from where we were. We were well outplayed for the first 3 quarters and not much went right for us, but in that final quarter we copped all the breaks. Thought West copped a few bad calls and non-calls late in the game. Do the umpires have it in for Rankine? I know he was undisciplined at times but the umps never missed an opportunity to ping him.

Huge game and final quarter from Panos

Unfortunately Rankine must be a slow learner. To repeat the same action literally only minutes after seeing a goal scoring opportunity reversed due to his actions defies logic.

After the first reversal (which saw the ball go coast to coast for a norwood goal and a 2 goal turnaround) I did see Captain Tom Keough walk up to Rankine and try to cool him down by speaking to him face to face as the ball went back to the centre. However, question is, should Rankine have been benched, even only for a minute or 2, following the first incident?

His raw talent is very good and I can’t see these poor on field decisions influencing his draft prospects too much, especially considering his age. From what I’ve heard from multiple people he is making poor choices in regards to his social life. Most AFL clubs would back themselves to create the right environment to form better behaviours and help develop young men into professionals.
