It was run by one of the papers, but yes, there was a mass player vote to get him across the line. :D

Some AFL players believe that they are better than society when they go out at night and think they can do and have anyone they want. Because I play for Port Power and my name is SPP. So because of who you are, women should just open their legs for you. Crap. He should have been given a month off and been told to go do some community service at a women's shelter. I can't stand people like that that use their so called reputation to do what they want. Maybe SPP has been hanging around Burgoyne or Heuskes too much.
I think 1 week is adequate for staying out past his bedtime. If hes found guilty if any of the allegations I agree he should get more. Let's wait for the facts/evidence before we start burning him at the stake.

IMO it's not just breaking curfew. Its getting paralytic drunk during an AFL season. I know these "kids" recover quickly but f. me if I was that pissed, I would be hunger until Wednesday!

Thing is, none of us have any clue about the lads that do that in a private residence, for all we know there's young lads on AFL lists that are like that every weekend, it's just he was doing it in a public place.

I believe Port's rule is with a 7 day break you can have a drink, not saying it's the intention to get hammered like that, but the playing group see it reasonable to have some drinks if they've got 7 days to front up again.

Me, I think half the problem with the young blokes is they don't get to do it regularly and when they do, look out. I'm not advocating getting slaughtered like that, but having a few drinks shouldn't be seen as the crime it seemingly is.

I used to struggle a lot more with hangovers when I was young than I do now. I thought that was the norm.

Seems like theres nothing much in the "incident" but he is still way past setting a professional standard judging by that footage.

And given Port player's recent records in that regard of course the media is going to be extra hot on it.
