Templeton scoring goals again in the trial games. Can't seem to convert that into the minor round though.

I thought considering the heat and that it was a first hit out, the intensity was high. Both coaches would have taken encouragement at the willingness of players to run hard and spread, along with the physicality.

Would have been close to a world record for holding the ball decisions- to say they were hot would be an understatement. It also dawned on me late in the game, that I couldn't recall any "out of bounds" frees for the game, and very few boundary throw ins.

Either an indication I wasn't paying enough attention or that coaches have a better handle on the rules 12 months on and have modified game plans to lessen the chances of kicking out of bounds.

I reckon so. To be honest I was impressed this time last year as well. Not sure how many were missing yesterday from the best 21 but the work rate, aggression and willingness to take the game on were positives for me. The young blond lad up forward (sorry name escapes me at the mo) , who was in the State squad last year is a keeper for sure.

Josh Scott is the one you're thinking of - I think you guys had a go at getting him out to Elizabeth not long ago.
Pretty sure we had at least 6 out yesterday that will line up in round 1.

He has been used in a variety of roles last year and will be again this year, I suspect.

If he stays injury free, I think Jacob could have a break out year of SANFL footy.

Did his bit across half back and defended well one on one. Miscued a couple of Kicks.
Would probably need another look to assess further to be honest
