Reckon we might see a fair few less West Indians next season especially with the English doing so well this bbl (Pieterson, Morgan, Bell, Broad, Billings)

Throw in the fact the English test side is here for the Ashes so there might be a fair few non test players who want to be in Oz then

So some South African born Englishmen playing in an Australian domestic comp?

Opinions are like a$$holes - everyone has one so here is mine.

I went to every home game and watched every away game and after finishing bottom we need a massive overhaul in 17/18

1. Goodbye Mr.Hodge - I find him to be selfish and the worst skipper in BBL. Regularly took us from a winning position to a desperate one and doesn't take enough risks putting pressure on the other batsmen. Time to get rid off him as he will only get worse
2. Ta Ta Kieron - once the most exciting 20/20 player he is overweight. His batting has been awful, his running between wickets calamitous and he can't hit a good change of pace. Doesn't provide anything with the ball either
3. Get a couple Of decent spinners - I know we had Holland who got injured but getting rid of Zampa and Ross for that matter was craziness
4. Bring in a genuine class batter - Trav was incredibly disappointing this year and hopefully will bounce back but it would be useful to have a near world class number 3. Ludeman/Weatherald is not that option.
5. Yorkers - any chances we could practice a few and learn how to execute them next year.

Zampa has never played for the Strikers?

Also think Hodge has indicated he wont play on next season anyway.

100% agree with the Pollard statement!!

Sorry, was it Boyce we had? I know we had Lyon, Muirhead and Rasheed in previous years.

I reckon young Boof deserves another shot as well

I'd be keen to see Sodhi get another gig next year full time.

As a secondary overseas player i think he would be great.

We need our main overseas player to be a gun top 3 bat that can win us games.

Didn't look good on TV. would not be surprised if its a broken jaw

Scans on Nifty Nev's jaw are inconclusive as to whether or not he has a fracture. The swelling was caused by a burst blood vessel.

For all you Brad Hodge fans out there-
The veteran batsman hopes to continue playing with the Strikers in BBL|07 but would consider offers from other clubs
Adelaide Strikers’ veteran skipper Brad Hodge has declared he wants to continue playing in the KFC Big Bash League next summer even if he’s not part of the franchise whose season effectively ended last night.

“I’m gonna play, where that’s at who knows?” Hodge said in the wake of the Strikers’ five-run loss to the Melbourne Renegades in Adelaide last night that left them at the foot of the ladder with no chance of making the finals.

“We just have to wait and see. “I feel like I’m contributing and contributing well.

“We’ve seen the quality of (45-year-old Renegades spinner Brad) Hogg, and I think I’ve played pretty well this year. “I love it.”

Before the tournament started he was talking about how this is in all likelihood going to be his final tournament and then he'll concentrate on his Strikers coaching role, leads the team to the bottom due in large part to his selfish slow ass batting and not being able to middle it anymore and now says he wants to play on again next summer and doesn't care if he has to join a 4th BBL team to do so.

Typical figjam Hodge.

You don't average 56 in test cricket after 6 tests and 35 after 25 in ODI only to never get picked again without being some kind of first class ahole.
Selfish little me me me man. Never been a fan and he is part of the problem not the solution.

Brad Hodge should just stick to chest beating in the Victorian Hard wicket comp he plays in when not in the BBL....

Strikers batting first to tonight, Ludeman and Dunk opening the batting. Hodge listed to come at three. Carey in for his first game of the BBL, about time he got picked! But Ludeman is still listed as the keeper.
