The Stanley Cups got me back into NHL 15. Should've got 16 when it was $30 last week. Back to $99.95 (crooks)
Second season as the Calgary Flames GM.
Wanted a 23 year old free agent who was holding out on the Montreal Canadiens, but didn't have any room on my roster.
Entered discussions with the Colorado Avalanche for their first round pick next draft.
I ended up trading away two guys on the wrong side of 30, therefore clearing two spots on the roster, about $3m in cap, and receiving an extra first rounder.
The free agent only wanted a one year contract. Obviously trying to cash in year to year on the market, but I was having none of that. I offered a 2 year deal, about $750,000 over his asking price, to sweeten the deal. This way, I can keep him around longer, and not have to try to resign him after one year.
If he dominates in my system, he'll be demanding much more money that the extra I've offered. I've had this problem in Madden. Sign a young QB to a 1 year contract for $900k, dominate the whole year and make playoffs, go to resign him and he want $50m over 4 years. Yeah ok mate

Let him go and sign another $900ker. I rarely have the same QB for more than a year.
He accepted, but his old team was given our next 2nd round pick as compensation.
Ended up with -
In
One good young player
One extra first round draft pick
Out
Two older players
One second round pick
Now scouting for some young talented defenders.
Currently in the second season. After going 9-0-0, we lost 2 in Overtime Shootouts and 1 Overtime Loss. So we're 9-1-2 after 12.
