Dogs first at it all night, don't think we deserved to win but would of taken it had it come off. Bad kicking at goal (2 by Dougie) really cost us early for momentum. Back to the multiple players chasing the ball carrier allowing the opposition out the back to run off and get the numbers advantage further down the ground.
Dougie and Thommo looked very slow, but none slower than B Crouch. First game back yes, but was left for dead by the Bulldogs.

Scott Thompson needs to learn that players duck and dive for frees, he is too aggressive in the tackle. Also while a couple of holding the balls were tough, he does tend to brace and ride the tackle when pinged.

My biggest question re the umps is how many frees in the centre bounce from non officiating umps...calling holding or blocking from 50m away. Would like to see them again to see if they are there. The last "block" against Jacobs was odd.

When the ruckmen go up and all of a sudden there is a free kick. It takes at least one replay before you can work out whats it was for. Obviously there are some very obvious ones but seems like bit of a lottery at times. The blocking rule in the ruck seems like a 50/50. You could get done for jumping or not jumping at the football.

For me the one that gets missed, across the board, is the block off the ball to allow a team mate to mark. Bordering on a screen in Basketball... All teams do it, and most get away with it. I agree with your comment on ruck infringements they are often impossible to work out.

Why were the umpires wearing yellow when the crowd were wearing their yellow Guernsey

Pretty happy the Dogs won, but just watching some of the game now and the Crows were deadset shafted (well at least in the 15 minutes I've watched thus far lol) .. Still could have won if they'd been that bit better, but some of the frees against and then missed calls of their own would understandably piss a lot of their fans off.

While I do think the Crows got the rough end of the stick slightly last night, the damaging frees the Crows gave away were just poor discipline, obvious in the backs, tackles too high and that type of thing at times where it killed crows momentum.

Watching Scott Thompson last night drives home just how quickly older players come to the end.

Yeah the number of high tackles they gave away should be a big priority to address

On the Bulldogs last night I don't know what people are talking about complaining about the umps, did those complaining see the game against Hawthorn? That umpiring performance was something to complain about. The Bulldogs were the better team last night pure and simple and deserved to win. If we had have snatched it right at the end we would've just been pulling it out of our arses like the Hawks did.

When I caught up with mum this morning for mother's day she said everyone is going on about the Crows being hosed by the umps last night, I said what the professional shit stirrers on talkback radio? She said everyone even the coach. I hope Pyke hasn't said too much because that would be a cop out and letting our guys off the hook. Tex needs to stand up, Betts did bugger all, Sloane could do more, Douglas early on missed two goals a professional footy player should kick and we gave away so many free kicks for high tackles. If we had have snatched that game it would've been thievery of the highest order they were the better team from start to finish.

Nice to see Jenkins kick 8 goals, couple of cheapies but the Crows should hand this guy a blank cheque.

These things concern me atm

We couldn't move the ball slower if we tried.
Eberts foot skills
Brisbanes work rate
Ports lack of work rate when Port have the ball. No lead ups at all.
Toumpas.

We lose by about 6 or 7 if these continue.
