Nairne Vs Meadows - Meadows by 2 points in another close one.

I reckon all games will be greater than 10 goals this weekend..
Bridgewater by 10 goals+
Kersbrook by 10 goals+
Birdwood by 10 goals+ (if Jock doesn't break his arm in the first 5 minutes again)
Nairne by 10 goals+

And this is why these teams will be your top 4 at season's end..

Good to see you have gone out on a limb there cossi!! Stating the very obvious!

There is a bit of a gap between the top 4 and bottom 4 teams, 10 goals is a bit rich but i'd be surprised if any of them got within 5 goals..

Tips for this week.

Kersbrook by 6 goals
Unfortunately for Birdwood they will have their first loss this week,

Nairne by 9 goals

Kangy by 2 points
Kangy have improved, just a few lapses in concentration has cost them big loses.

Bridgewater by 12 goals.
J MacDonald and T Sclanders from Bridgewater
Could be a lethal duo together from the 2 games I've seen the raiders play.

Lachy Barrett back for Birdwood and they score a rare win over Kersbrook. No surprises there. Kid can play

I forgot my tips last week... I would have tipped Kersbrook in a close one but am not surprised to see Birdwood push on and win..

Another big test for them this week and I reckon they can get the job done against Nairne.

Bridgewater v Gumeracha - Bridgewater by 10 goals+
Kersbrook v Macclesfield - Kersbrook by 6 goals
Meadows v Kangarilla - Meadows by 4 goals
Nairne v Birdwood - I think either side can win this and it will be less than 2 goals

after 5 rounds the top 5 are almost settled..... is this the way all out there expect to see the business end of the season playing out??

Top 5
Birdwood - Currently Undefeated have a solid midfield & some tall timber up forward which will cause headaches for defenders (on a dry day). Expect them to finish in the Top 5 maybe not as high as they currently are and the end prediction will be 3rd.
Bridgewater - Only loss so far to Kersbrook (was that due to the fact it was a quality side on a larger oval? all other wins have been at home or against bottom teams). Still have quality across the ground and will be hungry to finish top 3. Prediction is they will be top come the business end of the season.
Nairne B - Only loss to Bridgewater at their home (small oval might have upset Nairne with their press & run). Expect them to finish 2nd
Kersbrook - Always around the mark will do enough to squeeze into the final 5 (4th my expectation) and then do some damage if they also qualify roger for the finals series.

Then there is the next 3 - Gumeracha, Macclesfield & Meadows - depends weather any of these three can cause an upset throughout the year to the other top 4 as to who takes 5th spot.... also who gets the win over who in the return games... at this stage Macclesfield seems the stronger out of all three but Meadows did knock them off at home... will be interesting to see what happens on the return matches.

Went to see Kersbrook V Macclesfield on Saturday and Maccy certainly took it up to them for the first quarter and a half but Kersbrook just a bit cleaner with the skills and eventually took it out by about 12 goals

Birdwood Vs Bridgewater - Bridgewaters only loss so far has come on a big ground against quality opposition, Birdwood are around the mark this year but this is a big test... Bridgewater by 5 goals.
Gumeracha Vs Meadows - Could be a close one (as early indications say) this game will tell us who gets the final spot in the top 5. Meadows by a goal.
Kangarilla Vs Kersbrook - Kersbrook by 15 plus
Macclesfield Vs Nairne B - Nairne by 10 plus.

Good test for both Birdwood and Bridgewater... Birdwood play their home ground really well and seem to take it up to the 'predicted top 3' at home. Birdwood only just lost these 3 games at home last season but knocked off Kersbrook this season there already. Birdwood in a close one for me.
I think Gums get the job done at home though.
Kersbrook easy
Nairne easy

Mish Bingos crashed Kangarilla’s 10 year premiership reunion on Saturday. Started at Full Back for Kersbrook in the first half before being switched to the opposite end of the ground for the second half. Kicked 2 in the third and ended with 8 in the last to finish with 10 for half a game up forward.

Does anyone understand why the gumeracha coach has been sacked by the club?

Is the above rumor or fact (Gums Coach sacked?) ...... Also a bit of talk about Clubs coming down and going up on the Central Div forum... Has any clubs shown interest in doing this if Central Div goes to the 12 team comp?

Nairne & Bridgewater would obviously be the first two ... but do the have the depth and juniors to be competitive as a club (unlike Echunga whom have seemed to struggle this year with their depth). Bridgewater seem to be the stronger club out of the two, but would they want to go back up?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I would say nairne are a stronger club, I'm pretty sure they won the club shield last year and are pretty comfortably on top this year thus far. Also their facilities are much better, and it's actually one of the better ovals to view footy at. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

Also, I don't think the top 3 will be any different than last year. I think birdwood are a bit ahead of themselves. They had started well but they have quite a soft draw with the sides they get to play 3 times. Where as kersbrook, nairne and Bridgewater all play each other 3 times. Write the brookers off at your own peril, they win when it matters. Much like Uraidla.
