Sorry channel 7, the fact it was a close game doesn't mean it was a good game. Shit skills all round, really hard to watch.
But there were 75k people there so all's well...

I saw the last 8mins of the 2nd qtr

That was enough

But due to a Syndicate bet I kept track of the scores on the AFL app

Richmond won't play finals

I saw five minutes late in the second quarter, and the skill level was atrocious.

Surely the Carlton-Richmond opening match schtick needs a revamp? Big crowd, sure, but didn't sound like the kind of game you'd use to heard that start of the season. Cellar dweller v perennial underachiever.

Tough call. I thought it was a good game to watch, pressure on both sides was really good and it was tough, contested football. I can't wait to see if other R1 matches especially NM v Crows - will the skill level be any better in that match?
I say no to drugs, but they don’t listen.

Well I was there and the atmosphere was great all night. I loved the game.

Hard to know what to take out of the game tho, I was super impressed with the blues effort but thought Richmond were really poor. Was that due to 5 of there best 10-12 out of the fact Carltons pressure was so good?

Carlton structured up really well both ofensivally and defencially it really stood out being there. And the voice at ground level was awesome. Cripps (will be a super star) absolutely sprayed Simpson for not being in the right spot. I loved the fact a kid gives a senior leader a what for.

Really have a soft spot for the blues this year.

I enjoyed the game.. Competitive game from start to finish!

Unsure what people were expecting! Wouldn't be too dissapointed if I was a blues supporter. Had a real crack

Yes there were 11 positive tests to illicit drugs in the offseason. The club doesn't even get to find out the names of the players. There are also 2 clubs who had more than 11 positive tests aswell.

Yeh, torn. Should've won but then I went in thinking 6 goal loss would be a win. And Bolton showed that in the press conference when we eventually got around to it (thanks Ch 7).

I do have hope though. We showed something. Spirit, method and endeavour. Something we've lacked for years.

Kerridge was terrible. I mean, he got lots of it but he's really just an ordinary player and despite his pre season form he struggled under pressure.

Boekhurst good. Phillips good (surprisingly) and Murph was good despite lack of pre season/match game simulation. Cas's kicking was shocking although he did manage to get his hands on it this week at least. Wright will be good for us as a goalsneak although he's no Eddie Betts and Rowe did well tonight too. Weitering will get better - but crikey he's good already! Cripps, out and out star. He (if he's ever in a good side) will win a brownlow.

Let's hope we don't let Daisy back in the side.

Off season hair testing, no strikes, no names.

Yep, don't have a problem with what they do in the offseason. Actually surprised results aren't higher

Fair assessment although I think your a little tough on Kerridge. I was very impressed with the structure and set up both ways, it was clear there were rules and structures and as I said seeing Cripps give Simpson a spray I thought that's a great sign.

Daisy should just play in the 2's develop another kid under this structure.

Long way to go but a very good start.

The Dees come from nowhere to win by 2pts over a wasteful GWS

Well done Melbourne but GWS absolutely threw that away, had them on toast and wasted chance after chance after chance.

Disappointing start for them. Jeremy Cameron should feel pretty ordinary

That's what I thought when I saw the score, thought "What would Hawthorn or Geelong be doing to them?"
