Vale Paul Couch

Postby Rik E Boy » Sat Mar 05, 2016 12:39 pm

As a Cat fan I'm genuinely saddened to hear about the passing of Paul Couch. Couch was a brilliant midfielder for the Cats in the 80's and 90's and won the Brownlow medal in 1989. From what I've read he had a heart attack and passed away at the tragically young age of 51. He was one of my favourite players back in the Blight era and key component of a side that challenged regularly but couldn't quite get the job done.

RIP 'Couchy'. :(

regards,

I'm no Cats fan, but huge respect. He always seemed such a happy & decent bloke. Really sad for everyone.

Genuinely shocked to read this.

As REB touched on- an integral midfield link in a dominant era for the Cats, despite their grand final failings.

Vale Couchy, a true cat legend.

Genuinely shocked

Had a chat with him one day after a Bays 2s win when Tom played for us 2009.

Was a super bloke and so humble.

RIP Paul Crouch, condolences to Tom and the rest of the Couch family.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Way, way too young to pass. A Brownlow medallist in a club that was strong and chock full of great players at the time. Respect. RIP.

Yep. RIP Couchy. Just a class act.

Only watched the re-run of his Open Mike a few weeks ago. :(

Really sad to see PC gone way to long.

My old man played a lot of football with him and he was a wonderful person.
