Pretty much assures North of finals and probably a home final. If they can avoid Richmond it will be at Etihad which they love

Melbourne are putrid. Dawes kicking their second goal with a questionable free in the last minute before half time and injuring himself kind of sums it up. Perhaps Roos isn't the wonder coach everyone has always labelled him as.

Was thinking the same. How come the media aren't going hard at their mate Roosy, Melbourne have had that many leg ups and they have gone nowhere. Perhaps its because Gill the Dill is paying half of Roos' wages that he escapes criticism

Spot on Jimbob. At what point will the torch be put on Golden boy that was an inferno for guys like Bailey and Neeld. Since then all these juniors have got their games in and they have picked up a host of first rounders and Lamumba, Dawes, Garlett and these types. They still put forward performances like last week and this trash v the bottom team in the first half is laughable. The bloke is Teflon

What thought process occurred in his mind when he did that? Even without the point post being there, you could easily understand before contact was made that the only thing he was ever going to hit was Wingard's head. I know the point post is padded, but it is still solid enough to be one half of a sandwich or a fulcrum to bend someone's head at an unnatural angle. Hodge should have the book thrown at him for that IMO, just a plain stupid act.

You Sir should be on the judiciary but alas the protected species that is the Hawks will as usual escape the wraith of the AFL. If Jack Ziebell did that he would be on holiday for 6 weeks. Perhaps the third time he does it like the Mitchell knees he will receive a reprimand

They do declare themselves unsociable so apparently that's OK

It's not like it was accidental contact, he saw him, lined him up, and got him

Now see, that Yeo decision sums up what's wrong with footy. That wasn't holding the ball. It was a perfect reason for a ball up. Stop stuffing up the game FFS.

As a commentator from a comparative sport would say "GOTTIM YES, WELL PLAYED".

Ok, so not so comparative, but I like channelling Bill Lawry in such circumstances.

Wristy, being serious for a sec, I agree. Guys like Beveridge and Simmo at WCE have gone past him I reckon. The new breed is "in" and the new breed is being surpassed.

Nothing wrong with that, I just hope Carlton have that in mind when they appoint a new coach.

Port have been putrid on far to many occasions this season.

In my defence after hanging Roos the Dees kicked 6 in a row and it looked like the Blues were going to find away to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again.

Agree, even Ken Hinkley has been superb for Port despite having a huge lull this year.

I look at someone like Eade and think why Gold Coast why? A club needs to get pro-active and look for new directions. Even Phil Walsh has sent the Crows in the right direction.

The next generation of coaches is upon us and you don't need 300 games and a Brownlow to be a good coach, as a matter of fact it may not even help.
