This is talking about in a church setting, preaching and teaching. Call me old fashioned, thats fine, but it is only the feminist movement that has challenged this.

Look back 20 years at the divorce rate and it pales in comparison to today. How many of your parents/grandparents are still married today or were until 'death do us part'?

Maybe you should ask my wife or my friends wives if they are happy with the way our marriage is... i can assure you that they are the ones that will give you the best answer.

In our house i am the bread winner and have the duty of steering my family through life, my wife is submitted to me (voluntarily) and this frees her from that burden so that she can go about her business not worrying about the hard decisions. Of course she is involved in the process and i always consult her for her view but i make the call. Does that make me a chauvanist? I dont think so.

The other part that this doesnt allude to is that Paul also said 'husbands love your wives as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her Ephesians 5:25

So we, as Christian husbands, are to lay down our selfish desires and serve our wives like Jesus served the church, even unto death...

As i mentioned, divorce rates were well below current day statistics even 20 years ago, let alone in the 50s. So what has changed? And if my marriage lasts with all parties being happy, then what is wrong with it?!?

Interestingly, after looking at statistics my assumptions were wrong and divorce rates 20 years ago were actually on par with current day statistics (approx 48000 nationally). However 50 years ago, in 1964, there were just over 10000 nationally for the year.

So yeah, take my marriage from 50 years ago when there were distinct roles that men and women played and everyone was happy with that. And if that upsets you then you can deal with that because we are all good at my house.

Definately. And here is the issue because as a christian if i really believe what i say i believe then i must do my duty to warn people of the perils of sin and the consequences of it. Not from a position of self righteousness but out of love for people and not wanting others to end up in hell.

Its like if you were standing on the road and a truck was coming. I must do what i can to get you off the road even if you cant see the truck coming, even if you dont believe in trucks. I know its coming and i will do what i can to get you out of the way.

We can discuss all the intricacies of how i live and you can point and laugh if you want, but i will continue to preach the love of God and if you are going to die without knowing Jesus then you will have to go with me hanging onto your ankles pleading not to.
