Got to be a better option than watching your mob play a trial match...

saintal wrote:Important win, given last week's performance and the fact that South and Sturt will be eyeing top 3 spots. Game was played with a 3-4 goal breeze favouring the Northern end. Fairly even contest all day, with South kicking 6 goals in the final 10-12 minutes of the 3rd term with the wind to break the match open, a few of which were pretty soft/easy. Sturt challenged again though, booting 4 in the opening 10 minutes of the last before South managed to shut the game down.
Hard to argue with the better players named by the club. Cross was everywhere, 10 clearances and kicked a couple of great goals. Rose shut out Hanson while getting plenty of it himself, while a few guys who had been quiet in the opening rounds had better days out (Irra, Overall, Murphy, Macleod..). Still a bit sloppy at times though, mucking around at half back and turning the ball over, resulting in Sturt goals. Got slaughtered in ruck but won the clearances well. Had a few decision go our way infront of goal that helped.
After last week, enjoyed watching a match contested between two sides with the same objectives and preparation, and with two supporter groups who were vocal and passionate in support. Crowd was about 2100.
