I reckon Mighty Jamie would have approved of this league such is the standard of our bottom league. We've got a few newcomers this year with the rookies being the ladies, Mrs Creation and my workmate Michelle and her Daughter taking over the coaching reins of Team MK. Other ladies in the league include Mrs REB and Footy Chick as well as veteran coach Lily who must be close to cracking this game by now.

Dale's Multiple Scorgasms is another new Hogg team. Dale is tigermad's mate so there will be a bit of derby going on when gfcfirm take on the Scoregasms. The three teams I expect to dominate this league are former Division II powerhouse White Line Fever and the impressive youngster, Moe Jnr who coaches the MIne Crafters. Failed Creation are another side I believe will do well but who knows who the fourth side might be.

Should be a ripper league and I'm tipping WLF to create carnage down here. He seems like the odd one out and his percentage will be more than healthy at the end of the year. But no league is ever won before it is run, just ask Macca who dominated the Bunny Bowl only to get rolled in the granny.

Media Park put in a massive opener as Jimmy cracked corn in round 1 with a more than respectable 2179. It was bad luck too for the Thiele Crows who have started off much better this season in terms of scoring and if Thiele can score 1900 a week in this league he'll be playing finals this year. Other teams to post respectable scores were Mrs REB and Mrs Failed Creation as the ladies both scored over 2000 to get the win. Damaged Ink and the St Bray Saints were two other sides who have struggled in the past but managed to rack up 2000 and an opening round win.

Unlucky teams this week besides Thiele were Multiple Scorgasms with a 1984 which would get the job done most weeks in Divvy V. Young Mine Crafters also score over 1950 but didn't get the choccies. Meanwhile, the wonder elephant somehow managed to jag a win despite scoring only 1539 as IswiTch has yet to get going so far this season. Another team to somehow get four points was Team MK who won their first ever Hogg match at the expense of Victorious Secret who somehow dropped 500 points on last week's score.

Jimmy crack corn is going a whole lot better than Jimmy Bartel at the moment and Parky has sent off a warning to his fellow Divvy V coaches with a blistering start. Another improved coach is my mate Brendan whose Damage Ink has gone from a potential finalist to a genuine challenger in the first few rounds of the season.

There were a couple of 'derbies' this week with people who have been brought into the Hogg defeating the people who invited them in. Honestly, where is the gratitude? The trend began with Multiple Scorgasms proving to be too good for his mate gfc_firm who lifted for the occasion but finished second on the day. Meanwhile, in the Failed Creation household, Mrs Creation won the day by a mere 17 points. What are the odds these two teams are almost the same?

White Line Fever started off about as well the Cats this season but he is steadily getting a squad together that can challenge for the flag while Mrs REB and my brother in law BrettsRazorbacks have also begun the season undefeated. At the foot of the ladder is once again Strawb who has consistently held this position for many years. Strawb is due to make his first change for the season in about ten weeks so Mr T would pity the fool who he plays that week.

Jimmy crack corn could be the fly in the ointment as far as a 'Creation' derby Grand Final goes in this division. Media Park has never scored so consistently in SuperCoach before and in this company it's hard to see him losing too many matches. Failed Creation narrowly missed promotion last year to Divvy IV but he seems hell-bent on rectifying that situation with another score of over 2000 when plenty of coaches in much higher leagues failed to do the same.

Another team that doesn't exactly have a solid scoring history is gfc_firm who turned on the afterburners to dispose of the wonder elephants who not for the first time put in a real stinker. It was the battle of the Ipswich ladies as Team MK comfortably accounted for iSwiTch who are having such a bad year that only the notorious Strawb is behind her in the Hogg rankings. In only three games MichelleKaitlin has overtaken Lily and Team MK are now in the eight after this week's percentage booster.

One team in the top eight that is looking a bit vulnerable is BrettsRazorbacks who had a sensational season in 2013 which now appears to be something of an abberation. St Brays Saints are now appreciating the easier competition and are knocking on the door of the top eight after a solid win over Victorious Secret who haven't discovered the secret just yet.

Brendo's Damaged Ink may have arrived as a SuperCoach power at last after many years of trying after knocking off Hogg rookie True North FC in the top of the clash this week. Brenny has traditionally struggled to score 2000 in the past but this year's combination appears to be 250-300 points better than some of the Damages of the past.

Another team who couldn't score points but all of a sudden can't is the mighty Jimmy crack corn who has to be considered the early premiership favourite after racking up a string of big scores. Media Park is going so well that he would be winning in most divisions so he's in a position to rack up some real carnage here. This week the corn defeated St Brays Saints who are another Division V side in career best form. gfc_firm is yet another side who is scoring a lot more than they used to and both the firm and his mate the scorgasms look likely finalists at this stage.

Teams currently in the eight such as Leisa's Lovelies, BrettRazorbacks and Team MK have some work to do to stay in the top eight with the sides mentioned above and the promising Mine Crafters all circling. This league looks like a 12 team comp so far with perhaps Victorious Secret to climb into contention instead of BrettRazorbacks.

Jimmy crack corn got to top spot this week after they spanked the Penguins (so many jokes so little time!) but this was a round that showed Parky might not have it all his own way in this league. Plenty of coaches managed to rack up 2100 this week and this shows that about six teams will be pushing for a top four spot and the next six teams will be pushing hard for those last two spots in the eight. This would leave four competitive teams that would miss the finals so this is a very competitive league.

BrettRazorbacks defied my call last week that they weren't long for the top eight with a three point win over his sister, Leisas Lovelies. That's two losses in a row now for the Lovelies and they could be the side that misses out with teams such as Multiple Scorgams and St Brays Saints in particular knocking on the door.

There is another battle in this league and that is within the bottom six teams. Normally there are a few wins to go around as they play each other but the draw hasn't pitted these 'third division' teams against each other as three teams are yet to eat the Donut that sits in the W column. The exception this week was the wonder elephants (twe) who have been the hunted all year...this week they trampled on the Crew and if the elephants could find another hundred and fifty on a weekly basis they could become a contender. For this week though, elephants only get a percentage booster.
