Adelaide Uni have been up and down the D6 and D7 divisions for years, they've had seasons where they've taken some licks and I don't think I have ever seen or heard of a single complaint. Neither on here or on game days.

So in my mind, if there was a C Grade side which would have a couple of brownie points up their sleeves in regards to staying in the 7th division, it would be The Blacks.

yes mr.pliable

but henley shocs and ttg are all victims of your butt wipe accusations, but the blacks noo they are my best friends

The main difference in the previously mentioned cases is a team that wanted to stay/enter division 6.
Would Adelaide Uni have taken the hit if SPOS hadn't entered or if Mitchell Park wanted to go to div 7? We'll never know, but hence it's a completely different situation.

So saying a team has no history isn't average?

its a silly comment but can be done in tongue and cheek also the history of a club is not about the flags they win it is more about the friends you make and the people you meet along the way that make a club every club has a history

Sounds a bit like the old Port Adelaide/Port Adelaide Magpies argument. Which club is the true club? Maybe Mawson Lakes and St Pauls will merge back together again too.

Are there many Life Members, will they be recognized by both clubs or only Mawson Lakes - that is probably the true indication of who is the real club or if it is just a straight split.

I'm a life member at St Paul's / Mawson Lakes (229 games over 15 years)

Seems a rather strange situation the whole Mawson Lakes SPOS thing........Not knowing the full details but does this mean Mawsons need to get new guernseys ect now? Will this mean they are no longer the "Saints" and have to establish a whole new identity?

Ive asked this same question with no response im guessing that both teams are going to be the same colours and have the same nickname at this stage just by looking on both facebook pages, there is no indication that one of them is changing colours.

Morning old mate, long time no speak,

Mawson Lakes has no plans off changing the guernsey or changing there nickname and im not quite sure why they would have too?

Once Mawson lakes were made aware of the new St Paul's team coming into the league the Lakes contacted the school and explained the whole history of the club to them which the new Principal wasn't aware off. The lads who are starting up the team at St Paul's had a couple meetings with the Lakes committee where they were offered positions on our committee and for the Lakes to train and play some games at the school and have them be part of our structure.
The St Paul's lads didn't want to accept any of this and are pushing ahead under there own steam.
Where we are slightly disappointed, is in the League letting this team in when they know our history and not even making us aware of them coming into the League.
Not quite sure how you have two teams with the same history and all that, but all i know is we are pushing ahead with our club and with people who want to be at our club for the right reasons and wish St Paul's nothing but the best for there future.

in 50 years time when someone does the history of StPauls FC will it be specifically stated that the club was established in 2015? dont think so

mawson lakes should simply break away, evolve as themselves, dump their unhappy wife (StPauls) and become the Mawson Lakes 2.0 - lone and self dependent

Frame this people.... I agree with Marbles.

As painstaking as it would be to give away the history, this is the Mozzies real chance to get rid of the school (which is why they moved in the first place) and make a proper new start, with a new jumper and a new name - which may also help them in their quest to become the community club they always wanted to be and finally building up juniors and players from around the new area.

Perhaps involve the local businesses and the kids in the Mawson Lakes community to come up with a new jumper design. It's all about marketing.

If Princess Mary can give up her past to become a flourishing princess, MLFC should seriously consider the same.

In saying that, I know it's a decision I wouldn't be wanting to make and one that you wouldn't make lightly. It would be very testing on people who have worked tirelessly for the club for many years like Moose, Bruno, the Molloys and even Riddler. Would be interesting to know if this has seriously been discussed by the club and what you found the pros and cons were.

At least you've already got your new mascot though.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ;)

When have I potted TTG??

SHOCS I don't like, but not for any division selection issue. More their sense of entitlement and snobbery.

And I love Henley! You guys are so cute!

If Salisbury West are not successful in acquiring the required 50 registrations and are relegated to the C'grade divisions who will be the team going up to div 5. TOS would be first in line but with the closeness of the opposition in div 6 would they want to. That leaves Blodge as the next club to be offered the spot and is this why they are so heavily recruiting in anticipation of this occurring?

A year is a long time in football Mr Stark.

It just does make one wonder why a club who moved to get away from a school that didn't support them in any way and to move to a new area to grow as a club, is so keen to keep the club history.

Lets be honest, there's more ties with the Paralowie FC at Mawson Lakes right now than there is any old Scholars.

What they did to extend help and partnership to the OS was very commendable and you wouldn't blame them as the shared resources would've made for a very formidable outfit both on and off field.

Whatever happens, it's not a decision to be made overnight in any case.

I think they should still be entitled to recognise their history and should do so. A 're-branding' is a good idea though, new guernsey, new mascot, maybe new colours.
