We had vouchers for the Golden Grove Tav so decided to go there on Thursday night

I had the Pulled Pork burger.

Good size, but overall lacked a bit of taste. Fries were sensational!

Two others had the pork belly, one had a schnitzel, one had the beef and mushroom pie.

Overall no one complained. The service was very good, friendly and timely.

Cost is a bit 'up there' for the area IMO. 7/10

We finally went to the Birkenhead Tavern after living within a Km of it for 6 months.

I just got the Chicken Parmy, which was pretty good. Good size and good sauce. Price was pretty good too.

The missus got the small serving of the salt and pepper squid, which was only $13.90. I thought it would be small, but the plate was packed with thick pieces of squid. The only problem with it was the batter was falling off too easily.

Salad bar was great. It only had the usual suspects, but they were all delicious.

For both meals and two cokes, it cost us $43, which is awesome.

Then we lost about $40 in the pokes

Overall 8/10

Birkenhead tavern is the best pub to eat at on peninsula I reckon, their Chicken Snitty burger is amazing, it's a good size but it used to be much bigger, unfortunately they've downsized it.

I head up there Tuesday evenings for Trivia which they have in the beer garden area. Very good food (price isn't cheap as such, you're right). I liked the PP Burger as well. Another night I had the rump steak with Kilpatrick sauce on top =)

Try Tuesdays with QuizzaMe - Interactive trivia on the BIG SCREEN they have there (which is sensational)

Last time I went to the Windmill, it was Melbourne Cup day and popped in to collect winnings on the way home.

An all in brawl ensued whilst waiting i was in line - luckily the offenders took it outside and the cops quckly turned up to take them on a special car ride.

I'm surprised you got out alive ;)

It was very quiet and orderly last night. They even have a play area for the kids.

I have a great memory of going to the Windmill with my Late Gramp. That was his and Nans favourite pub as they lived next to OLSH in Enfield....
On this occasion he snagged 5 Indians with flaming tee-pees X15 betting $1.25. He collected over $2,500 and management opened the machine up and left it open so no-one else could play it for the day. I also ate a schnitzel that day and it was probably good keeping with the thread topic :D

Seacliff hotel

Ordered a Italian Job pizza and it was very nice. Full of flavour.
Mrs had a Trio of Seafood which she thoroughly enjoyed and I had a nibble of the fish and calamari and it was very light.

Used the ent voucher for 25% off.

Came to $50 with drinks and bruschetta

Id give it a 7.5

Definitely will go back

Went to the Grange Hotel for lunch this week.

View was good, service was good, food was good. Just a bit pricey but some of the seafood platters looked outstanding. We had combination platters and an assortment of finger foods and it was all tasty and prepared and presented well.

Good to hear someone enjoying a meal there. We had 3 of 6 orders **** up there about 3 years ago and havent been back. Problems included raw beef stirfry and some entrees coming out after others' mains.
