End of season movements. FA, trades, bullshit etc.

Talk on the national game

We've got guys that have been playing the same role, better, for longer.

We need runners. We had too many inside players.

Let Zeibell go? (Can play mid and forward, best in and under we have)
Let Cunnington go? (Actually won the B&F)
Let Swallow go? (The clubs captain)
Or let Greenwood go? (Had one good year out of 6)

You decide...

Think it was about the $$$ more than anything. In he end based on your current list he was expendable.

No. Good list management decision.

Surely you could fit all 4 in the side.

So pickering comes out* and says Boyd will quit whether it's this year or next.

So with his contract expiring after next season would GWS get any compo it he left after his contract expires? Surely not...

he is not a free agent so they will not receive anything. it's either do a trade in trade week, or he goes to the PSD with a $$ amount on his head. If a club wants to match that (other than the bulldogs) he has to go there. That's my understanding of it anyway

Time will tell but Im guessing Pick 25 will still be playing in 4 years time, not sure Greenwood will.

Time will tell indeed, pick 25 might never play a game....

The assessment above is fair enough, you need more outside runners, I still think I'd take Greenwood over pick 25 ( an unknown )

Potentially. Say if the Dogs have Pick 3 in the PSD and Boyd says i want $750k a year and whoever has pick 1 and 2 can jump in and pay that amount and he will have to honour that.

Someone correct me if I am wrong though.

That stands true for any trade for any pick.

My frustration comes from discussions a fair few pages back where people were talking about Greenwood like he's the next Ablett. Nobody even mentioned him until now.

what's his excuse for wanting to quit his club to move to victoria?

Sick of players saying they want to move back to victoria - reeks of softness
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

We lost our second best mid and a bloke who, albeit is poco loco, finished fourth in the Copeland this year.

And replaced them with Greenwood, two list cloggers, and a pick in a shitty draft.

Yeah, I'm not nervous, I'm pissed off.
