So Joe has been paying players through his business and refuses to hand over the books (something all SANFL club board members are obliged to do if requested)?

Shit bloke doing more shit stuff to the SANFL.

Take their flags, we'll have no premier for the last three years.

It's all okay, the money is coming out of a hidden trust fund, it's all above board

Nothing to see here, move along...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Norwood members, I was even one once, would like to know about the money held by our three separate trusts too. Their financial reports are never tabled as the club are not obligated to.

Luckily for me I have Glenelg's financial rectitude to get me through these dark days in the SANFL.

Just out of curiosity what obliges sanfl board members to hand over their books? Is it a legal imperative or just one you have to do if you want to continue as a board member?

The latter. If he resigned as a board member he is no longer obliged.

I believe the SANFL will then compel Norwood to get the books. Not sure what power they have there, or what the "or else" would be.

Cheers, interesting.

If Joe quit, 18 months too late but that's another story, it'd be fascinating to see if the sanfl had the power to force Norwood to hand over the books of a company owned by someone who would then be just a member of the public.

would seem on the surface of it to be onerous.

Traceability back through the players. Unless they were paid in cash of course.

It'd be a dark knight if that ever happens.
