good, bugger off. We don't want players who don't have the ticker to strive for a premiership.

It's obvious he doesn't want to strive for a premiership. He's going to Glenelg. :D

From the Norwood website

Last night Gavin Hughes informed senior coach Ben warren that he would be retiring from SANFL football. Gavin joined the Norwood Football Club as a junior from the Modbury Hawks Football Club and played his first senior game in 2005 against North Adelaide at Norwood Oval. Gavin was then Drafted by the Western Bulldogs at the end of 2006 spending 2 years on the Dogs list without making the senior side. Gav then returned to the Norwood Football club in 2009, constantly in and out of the league team due to injury.
Gavin's penetrating kick and strong presence over the football has made him an integral part of the NFC's back six when injury allowed him on the park and getting to taste premiership success in his final game of SANFL was just rewards for a player who worked so hard off field to play each week.

Gavin has indicated to Ben that he would like to still be involved around the club learning the the coaching side of the game.

HUGHES, Gavin Stephen Born: 7/4/1986 Games Goals
Career: 2005 to 2006 & 2009 to 2014 Norwood 68 22
Debut: v North Adelaide (Norwood) 24th March 2005 TOTAL 68 22
Finale: v Pt Adelaide (Adelaide Oval) 21st September 2014
Number: 42, 1
Position: Half Back

Not quite ... I've been alive for 3 and have been to 2, whilst you guys never had any ... but it's a long, long time ago now.

I think only one current player was born then, and he was only 5 months old!

FFS ...

Your pessimistic humour, which is really used to cover up your disgust and disappointment, are a cloak I knew well when I was younger. ;)

I hope to never have to resort to that sort of humour.

Did not play a lot due to work commitments but obviously missed the environment of the Norwood Footbal Club.
