Sturt
Sturt coach Seamus Maloney could take a punt on talented teenager Josh Hone for Saturday’s First Semi-Final against South Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
Hone, who has only played three league matches, is a lively goalsneak capable of pushing further up the ground.
The 17-year-old provides the Double Blues with a significant ‘’X’Factor’’ in that he has great pace and marks well overhead for someone of his size (175cm and 67kg).
Utility Jack Kelly is the other player added to Sturt’s 23-man squad, with two players to be trimmed before the bounce.
Earlier in the week, Maloney – who spoke to SANFL TV - hinted that Hone and Kelly would come under strong consideration.
‘’Our reserves had a really good win in the Qualifying Final so there are a few younger guys like Hone and (James) Rose who are talented Under-18s and good footballers,’’ Maloney said.
‘’And there are some experienced guys there who keep putting their name up like (Tom) Hurley and Kelly so there is a bit to discuss.’’

South
South Adelaide coach Brad Gotch is weighing up whether to recall versatile bigman Alex Cailotto for Saturday’s First Semi-Final against Sturt at Adelaide Oval.
Cailotto, who was unlucky to lose his spot in the side for the Elimination Final, can offer the Panthers great flexibility in that he can relieve Keegan Brooksby in the ruck and play at either end of the ground.
The 22-year-old – who measures in at 194cm and 98kg – would most likely replace former Power rookie Daniel Bass if he got the nod from Gotch.
‘’We know he can offer us a bit of flexibility wherever he plays,’’ South football manager Neill Sharpe said of Cailotto.
‘’If we don’t want to alter our structure in any way, then he gives us that flexibility.’’
Former West Adelaide speedster Matt Rankine has also been added to the Panthers’ 23-man squad, with Gotch again considering his pace across the wide expanses of Adelaide Oval.
‘’Matty’s form was good toward the back end of the season so he is a chance to come back in,’’ Sharpe said.
‘’He offers us another option in that he can play forward or back as well while covering the ground really well.’’
Co-captain Josh Thewlis will take his place in the side despite suffering from cramp late in the Elimination Final victory against the Eagles last Saturday.
