Not sure how that is going to help them rebuild, unless the plan is to force them to collapse.

From what I heard from the neutral observers that was the goal, they got the raw end of the stick during their games simply because of their postcode.

what rubbish Lightning.
On another Note. Had two great umpires in our under 13 game on the weekend. Use of there voice was fantastic. Well done

i done a under 13s game on the weekend must be talking about me lol

Are there interesting times ahead :o , mercy rule looks like it may play a part in certain grades this season with sides either missing a spot in the top 4 or the double chance, yet again, The rule does not work and now scores are no longer allowed until U11's get rid of the stupid thing

Must be a Broadview side on the wrong end of the stick.

I always thought that the mercy rule didn't affect percentage?

That is the actual scores of the game (say 120-10) are recorded for the purposes of percentage but 70-10 is the number published in the newspaper/website?

EDIT - In any event I like the mercy rule. Team's/Coaches just running up the score against significantly weaker opponents in junior matches need to re-consider their priorities. When my team looks like doing that I switch forwards/defenders and/or give the opposition my 3 best players.

You raise some good points and i certainly was not aware that the actual percentage stood (will try it out and see)

In relation to your last comment, agree entirely about swapping players etc etc against lesser opposition. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, as was proven by one of our sides on the weekend. we had 5 of our Development Squad players out, lost another early in the 1st 1/4, swapped players around and even had Under 12's filling in for those we rested yet still won by a large margin, and really the margin was injustice to the losing side because they played a hell of alot better than the scored showed, difference was that they had difficulty in scoring

15 rounds of the lads playing footy at 1.20pm or 3.00pm all season, now we head into a 2nd semi final at 10.00am  might need a taxi for that one if our Seniors have a win Saturday :drinkers:

Last year I coached a team which played at midday or 1:20 all year.

Their preliminary final was the day after I played in a premiership and it was played at 9am. Not great.

Time of our game didn't have an issue with the players.

May not have won the game but U14 Red 2nd semi final, a cracker of a game, number of persons involved in footy saying one of the best games of Junior Footy they have seen in years.

well done to PNU and Broadview, lets hope we get a chance to reverse the result in the G/F

And to he Umps, fantastic, especially the one that lost he pea and yelled it out, then i said i wanted a pee and he kindly directed me to where the toilets were, a classic moment

Has just been pointed out to me that PNU has won straight through to the GF in every red age group in NEMJFA except Under 15s to go along with its Under 18s winning straight through. Good times at Rosella Street.

Some horrid spectators at the Elizabeth V Gaza U/15 game yesterday at Eastern Park.
How do people think it's ok to heckle a 14/15 year old lad and put such a dampener on him he wants to leave the ground.
To you knobs, you are fruit loops.
Well done to the ground marshals on shutting them up.
Sitting on the outer side of the ground they were in full view and every word could be heard.
Idiots.
Hope their club deals with the fools.

I've seen all sorts of crap at the arse end of this season, the NEMJFA should seriously contemplate a no calling out policy except for coaches to give instructions, parents and spectators should be limited to applauding, the minority ruin it for the majority and clubs turn a blind eye to the bad eggs that they harbor.
It's kids footy, it's about the kids development, it's not a showcase for others to be entertained. Spectators should just spectate IMO.
Whenever I've watched my kids play (if I wasn't coaching them at the time) I'd set myself up on the other side of the ground and just sit there and watch, I'd get jibes about it but I flat out told the other parents that I don't wish to be associated with the dickhead comments that come out of other parents mouths.
