Edge of Tomorrow

Character-driven blockbuster.

See, Hollywood, you can make those movies.

Expected the spectacular action set-pieces but it's surprisingly funny, too.

Favourite bit was the gratuitous shot of The Cruiser roaring through the city streets on a motorcycle.

Aliens reminded me of funnel-web spiders in attack mode.

Now Emily Blunt will star in heaps of crappy, plot-driven big-budget action movies...

Watched 12 Years A Slave recently .. Hard to call it a fantastic move because the topic and nature is so grim and incomprehensible, but it really was a captivating film.

I agree. I do like watching those sorts of films that have a historical bent, especially when they show how epically cruel ripple can be. It was not unlike schindlers list in that regard

The Hollywood Complex

Bizarre, sleazy, cringing, compelling, jaw-dropping look at kids trying to become stars in LA.

So many moments have you wondering "WTF is wrong with these people?"

That whole world is a train-wreck.

Catch it on ABC iView...

22 Jump Street

Bigger but not necessarily better, nor funnier, sequel.

Still has its moments.

Make sure you stay for the most ridiculous end credits...

The Fault in Our Stars

Damn those annoying teenage girls sniffling and sobbing the whole way through the movie.

Oh, wait. That was me. Sorry.

WTF were people cutting up raw onion in the cinema?

Geez...

Watched it last night. Was really good. Love Geoffrey rush as an actor, i think he is just about the best in Australia.

The ending tried a little too hard to be a year jerker and was slightly disappointing but other than that I really enjoyed it

Transformers - Age of Extinction

We took my 11 year old brother to see this last night. I have only seen the first one, and didnt really like it, so didn't have very high hopes.

To my delight, Marky Mark Wahlberg is good in it, and the visuals are awesome!

The story is good until they just keep adding subplots to make the movie longer. It goes for nearly 3 hours.

8/10

Red State.

It was on TV last night came out a couple of years ago done by Kevin Smith.

Not great but a good movie and John Goodman was good in it too.
