barracking is fine, i mean it is our country against the others, so if ever it was acceptable to be a bit biased this would be it.

however this would be the time that they should be trying to convert the casual fans, so the broadcast should be made as accessible as possible, even if they dumb it down a little bit

disagree, in the right circumstances.

when John Aloisi scored that goal back in 2005 or whenever it was to put us into the world cup, and the commentators went bunta, it was one of the all time most memorable sporting moments for me. Johnny Warren!!!

That wasn't barracking, that was commentating to the occasion of a team reaching the WC for the first time in 30-odd years.

On the weekend, it was barracking and it was ordinary.

Would be quicker to name the decent media people than list those that are ordinary. When you watch/listen to overseas sport you realise how bad the majority of the AFL media is in comparison.

On the weekend in the Crows v Roos game BT :

Adelaide player chips the ball slightly sideways/backwards, the umpire calls "Play on--play on--not 15"

BT....says....."The umpire called play on, not 15, how does he know when the player hasn't marked it yet?"

I kid you not.

The only current Socceroo who could remotely be called by his first name is Tim Cahill - I let rip a Timmmmmmmmyyyyyyyy! when he scored.
Our goalie is Ryan, not Mat. Our defender was Davidson, not Jason.

Watching the post-game analysis at 3.30am this morning and our mate Fossy comes up with:

'If we had their players, we would've won that game tonight'.

******* oath it does. Listening to Fox commentators barracking for Gold Cost was even more galling than watching our era end as an ex-Cat have a field day.

Jason Dunstall brought up an interesting point concerning the calibre of commentary teams of late, in particular those who commentated the Essendon v Adelaide game on saturday night.

Josh Jenkins' goal (yeah, for a big fella learning the game- it was a pretty bloody good goal)- Won the tap, roved his ruckwork, ran his 15 and banged it home from 65. Matty Richardson and BT were discussing twitter at the time of the goal. ****ing Twitter.

Some of the best moments in footy relate to the commentary. "Oh Jesalenko, you Beauty!" "Cox throws it onto the left, one last roll of the dice for the eagles..LEO BARRY YOU STAR"..ok you get the point....

Instead of "Jenkins from 65 GOES BANG!" (ok maybe a bit more innovative)....its "twitter".....*silence*.

FFS- commentate the ****ing game you muppets.

Know Craig Foster can go a bit overboard but pretty certain when he made that comment about 'the other teams players' he was referring to the fact of the finishing class of Van Persie, Robben and Depay where as we only have Cahill

Never has anything to say about football, knows nothing about football or football teams.

Only ever talks about administrational gossip.

Stop giving this **** air team. Kthanks
