I might always hit the ball on a fairway

May not be the right one though lol

However my last 2 rounds ive missed 2 fairways which is a brilliant turnaround for me.

I may add when im playing bad im not as bad as a guy in a group of 3 ahead of me yesterday.
He was a left hander and had a great hook shot that richie richardson would've been proud of.
An example he teed off at the 7th and ended up just off the 8th green

Now that is a very nice hook shot.
i have been snap hooking my driver, so it has been staying in the bag a little more than normal.

I wish I had the discipline to keep the big stick in the bag. Can usually get it up there 220+ with my 3 wood anyway, and not having to punch out my second shot every other hole helps a lot haha

It comes out on #1 and #2 and that dictates what I use and on what hole going forward. There are probably only 8 holes that I would use my driver on anyway.

I like the look of the new mini driver from Taylormade, but at $300+ it turns me off very quickly.

its amazing

the oast 2 rounds ive been really solid with my driver, ive made some slight changes

but the changes ive implemented ive tried before and had no luck with but now for whatever reason its working

im not complaining, but it probably helps when you can just wander around at your own pace, headphones on listening to some relaxing tunes whilst enjoying the scenery

Come play at West Lakes buddy you will soon learn. Only need the big stick for 7 of the 18 holes. Can sneak in an 8th if the weather conditions are favourable.....

I'm not a member of a club, so I usually play anywhere and everywhere dictated by the cheap deals I can get.

So my thought process is usually, shit I should prolly hit an iron or a 3w here, that is a smallish landing area, or danger oob for my slice..... Nah fk that, I won't play this course for another 6 months, I'm not here to fk a seagull. Big stick it is.....

Closely followed by walking to my bag to get another ball :)

A golfers walk of shame haha

if i am in the 5hites with my game there will be times where i do what i shouldn't be doing, but try not to do that. at the end of the day i am 5hite but love the game and enjoy walking the fairways.

after all - a bad day on the course, is better than a good day in the office

you blokes are fked up

who walks back to the bag for another ball????

I just carry it in my pocket in case a wayward drive goes into territory where it will not be found!
quickly place the new ball on the tee and just try to wipe out the last shot from my memory card!

When we play, because it's not comp, we usually play the "if it's ob then it didn't happen" and also the "20 second rule" where if you can run and grab it and put it back on the tee within 20 seconds it didn't happen ;)

that reminds me of listening to Merv Hughes on the Rush Hour ages ago. He was playing golf while on the phone to Roo and Ditts asking about golf etiquitte and what they would have done.

he said his golf partner was looking for his ball when he heard "found it" and with out thinking twice Merv called him a lying 5hit. The boys asked why, and Merv went on to say "he couldn't have found it becuase it was in my pocket the whole time"!

Haha awesome.

Since we are on golf stories with merv, I kind of have one.

I was at the Shane warne charity poker tournament last year and one of the auction items was a round with Shane warne and Ricky ponting at royal Melbourne.

I got all excited and thought if there was any time I would bid on an auction this might be it. I would pay a couple of grand for it easily I was thinking.

Would this be the time that I got to play golf with two of my all time greatest heroes? I was thinkng it could be.

And then the auctioneer started. "Ok, we will start the bidding at 5k. Any takers?"

Dreams crushed before the bidding had even started haha.

Aaron finch ended up winning it for 10k, at which point Andy Lee got up and said he would pay 5k to be the other guy in the foursome.

This was the time that merv, perched at the bar at the back of the room, piped up with BULL FKING SHIT YOU WILL!!!

He had obviously gone halves with finch.
