So unless he's trying to impress the missus with big salary talk, it might be quite the prudent figure.
If he laid off the drink and actually focussed on rehabilitation maybe he might get himself back to full fitness.

What’s Imps chances of winning the flag this year, their personnel appears to be there but the results aren’t very convincing.

I think Imps are a fairly good chance to win the flag this year, but i think they'd need their gun forwards Sayers, Shiell and Harrowfield to all play on GF day (if they make it). They've got some quality players in Puckeridge, Wait, Gerhardy and Sumner, those guys are up there with the best in the league. Psychologically with all the losses they've had in the last 8 or 9 years though, this could be determine how they go in finals. I'm not talking as a fan of the club though, they're actually my least favourite club in the league, i'm just stating that they have some real quality players amongst their ranks.

I'd really like to see Ramblers win the flag this year, i know their all non Rooster fan's least favourite club, but given the club i follow is out of contention, i'll certainly be hoping the Reds win their first flag in 20 years this year. They've got the talent on paper, but i think they haven't reached the consistent form of last year.

One topic i havent seen discussed on here - apparently its already been decided that the GF will be played at Jervois this year, i presume thats regardless of whether or not they make it or not. Thats a MASSIVE advantage to the bluds and i really cant understand how other clubs would allow it, unless it was decided that there will now be a yearly rotation, starting with the reigning premiers.

In regards to where the GF is held, Eastern Eyre league plays it on a rotation basis with all finals rotated between venues each year.
Whyalla and Port Lincoln have a "league headquarters" such as centenary and bennett oval where it is played every year.
I think le messuierer, (spelling is wrong, but you know what i mean,) would be the go.
Grandstand, Central in Murray Bridge, has the atmosphere....

SS I think your source might be reporting on the wrong Rigney - there are two, Trev (the better of the two) would easily be on 400 - 500 a game but he is a quality player who shoudl've gone further with his footy, the other one is Jeremy - he is having a very poor season after having talked himself up and all others down at the commencement of the year, he'd be worht approx 2.50 (not to be mistaken with 250 - jokes Hills dont take your shirt off)

I didn't say J Rigney was on 500, i said J Lyon was.
I was assuming a player with similar ability would be worth a similar fee.
Some have denied paying Lyon that much, others say it's around the mark.
Whatever it is, I had heard J Rigney has quite a bit of talent despite his poor showing this season.

SS do you know what is holding Younger Rigney back from fulfilling his potential? Injury? Fitness? The bloke does have talent just maybe not as much as he'll tell ya? Will Jervois keep him on next year on the same salary or could that money be utilised in other areas? Maybe a revised contract? Also will T Rigney stay at Jervois next year?

By all acounts the guy is a gun.
But apparently a bit of a lost soul, wild child?
Has lost his licence caught drink driving so that might give a clue as to where his head is at.
I can't say, never met him, but from what i understand, Jervois rate him, not as highly as T rigney, but still fairly high.
Whether or not Jervois stick with him despite his cold form is another story, I couldn’t imagine if he was on a hefty match payment that they would persist with that.
Jervois do have a lot of money, they are a smart entity, so I believe he’ll either snap into form or find a new club.
Rigney is a talent, Jervois are unlikely to just let him go.

I realise that GF's are generally rotated, but generally its not decided before the season, its generally (in the RMFL at least) confirmed only a week before the actual GF itself. The policy has always been that one of the 2 competing clubs wont be hosting the GF but this year its 99.9% certain that Jervois will make it to the grand final so will have a healthy advantage. I just cant believe the other clubs agreed to giving them a "leg up" for what will probably be their fourth straight flag.

as far as i know the clubs would have all voted for it at the start of the year and it is on a rotation program, starting with Jervois this year. Im not sure how it worked out that they were first, wether it was who the last to host it, last years premiers or just names out of a hat. It does seem fairer in some ways. At least everyone gets a shot at it, regardless of how good/bad their oval/facilities are. Maybe it will push clubs to raise the bar with those things a little.

As far as playing it Le Mesieurer, that is a pretty ordinary oval and pretty ordinary changerooms.

What I want to know is why imps get the association game every year. By far the worst oval in the league (hard as a rock and youve got no idea which direction the ball will bounce the deck is that bumpy)!!

The GF, regardless of facilities, should be rotated each year, before the season starts.
Finals as well.
That way money is shared between clubs from all finals, and everyone gets a fair go.
Same with association games.
It's either rotated and the money eventually distributed evenly, or the league has its own headquarters and the money goes to the governing body.
