Went to my bank yesterday, which I've been thinking of leaving anyway, mainly because they recently turned purple. I hate purple.

Anyhoo - went to the lady at the desk and asked to withdraw X amount of dollars to be split up into certain different denominations and reqeusted $20 in $2 and $10 in $1. (I'm having a garage sale)


"Sorry, we don't have that amount in coins" the lady said

WTF?

That is up there with the UK banks not accepting 50 pound notes. Then why do you bloody issue them?

don't hog the right hand lane. if you want to drive 20kms under the limit stay to the left and abide by the law
if someone wants to come into you lane then let them , but also they need have a bit of respect

Mate, that is only the law for 80km/h and over and that is why you only see the signs "KEEP LEFT UNLESS OVERTAKING" on roads that are 80km/h or higher.

There is no law that states you must travel in the left lane on any road under 80km/h.

How do you turn right on South Road/Main North Road/North East Road/Goodwood Road/Unley Road/Port Road etc otherwise?

Regardless of what the letter of the law is, the roads would work better if we were all civil and cooperative and didn't obstruct other people doing what they want to do, or need to do, to get where they are going, instead of treating it as a competition, or deciding to play policeman and be obstructive by sitting in the right lane right on the speed limit or just under, or blocking people from changing lanes where just lifting the foot off the accelerator for a few moments would let them across.

I often back off a bit to let people who are obviously trying to change lanes in, and often they are surprised and bewildered by the courtesy and hesitate to act on it. In return I hope they won't be obstructive if I'm in the fast lane slightly bending the speed limit on some occasion.

Courtesy is better then bullying regardless of legal technicalities.
