Excellent stuff lads! Great publicity for our cause.
Perhaps if the WAFL fans had been so prominently outspoken the reserves issue wouldn't have turned out so badly over there. Thank you to everyone who's putting the message out there.

how good would it be if Crows and Power Reserves sides went to the VFL - and the SANFL became the only state league in australia without AFL players running around in it - the highest level uncompromised competition in the country outside of AFL - i think it would remain the best state league and an influx of quality players from Victoria, WA, Qld, NSW fed up with playing 2nd fiddle to 18 year old 'stars' from the AFL would make their way down South to play in the best football league in the country.

The clowns on Triple M don't want the AFL listed "reserves" playing spread throughout the SANFL, they want them to have their own sides.
The clowns on Triple M now want the SANFL to spread it's reserves players throughout Div 1 ammos and do away with SANFL Reserves

am I missing something there?

I haven't heard any news yet on the SANFL Commission meeting from last night but I can say both the Crows and Port have been offered $625k each to help with costs to have their reserves sides in the VFL. SANFL Clubs do not want them in their competition.

No idea where he got that info, but certainly interesting.

I think the Info might have come from This article http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl ... 6679321238

They may have misread this part

Thomas has offered to hand back to the SANFL clubs the Magpies' $625,000 annual dividend (money the SANFL clubs know they will not see as the commission will use it for debt reduction rather than bigger cheques to clubs). He should keep that money in his One Club coffers to bankroll the Power reserves in the VFL, a competition that will ultimately become an AFL reserves series. Hinkley will be satisfied.

Agree that it where it probably came from. Would be staggered if the SANFL had even entertained the idea. Bit of poetic licence taken with that post.

Except the VFL have already publicly stated they won't entertain the idea of non-Victorian clubs entering their comp.

Cost clubs too much with the Gold Coast and Tasmania in the comp.

so its not only the SANFL that dont wnat them? guess you better get stuck into the victorians for being anti change then

purely from a player development standpoint i would have thought the vfl would be a better fit than the sanfl. playing against other afl listed players more often than not would surely be better for the crows and power? the afl clubs couldnt be putting money in front of the ultimate conditions to develop their players surely? ;)

Not sure that they will run a story. Although apparently they are running a poll where its running 2/1 in favour of having them in.

I did hear on MMM last night some comments made on how bad the financial position of a few clubs is.... can the SANFL be self sufficient or will they need to continually work on AFL dividends going forward.
