Will South improve in 2013?

Just joshing.
To be serious all clubs should work to protect each other and ensure no one club goes under. No matter which one a loss of any club would be a tragedy. Most clubs have their bad times but most get by, trouble is hard for clubs like West who have a very low supporter base.
Any white knights out their ? Gerrard /North, Coopers/Norwood, Scott/Port etc. etc.

Mate, the SANFL has been bleeding its coffers dry to ensure One Club doesn't go under!

I would be happy if the bye went one way or another.

We are one of the most financially sound and the ship is slowly starting to point in the right direction. I'm more optimistic now than ever.

Port Adelaide Magies were OK until the xxxxing Power came along.
Get rid of Port Power, give the licence to Tassie and let the Magpies get back to business.
The Power are 100% certainties to fail because they lose money every time they play a game of football ( except against the Crows ). Adelaide Oval will not save them. If a dog is obviously sick and suffereing we put it down, why not offer that kindness to Port Power and save a lot of time and needless suffering.
My wife is a Carlton fan so I took her last year to see them play Port Power. Hopeless atmosphere, no one there, give it up !

They won an AFL premiership in 2004 FFS. So clubs like Saint kilda and the Bulldogs that havent won a premiership in 50 years do we shoot all of them too. I,d hate to be your dog. Your incredibly in depth opinion based on attendance at one game. Get over yourself SDK. Port will be fine, just going through a bad trot and the move to Adelaide oval WILL help as will the new coach and all the other initiatives it has undertaken.
Here is a stat for you oh wise one. Port had the best win /loss ratio in the AFL in its first 10 years. We wont be giving it up and we will improve and once again prosper.

the club might not give up but the fans did a long time ago. Attendance is a disgrace, cant wait to see the tarps at AO

Don't argue with you about their past which was exceptionally good but their future is doomed because they can not attract a crowd and los money every time they play a game of football.
Time will tell who is right and frankly I hope I am wrong. Many other people share my views as well.

I hope you're right! This town ain't big enough, population-wise & financially, for 2 AFL teams! never was & never will be. This is the broke state & no-one moves here, so the population won't be growing for a long time so we can sustain the 2 teams.

Fair call, just dont want the death bell ringing yet. New Coach (thank God), new season and new hope and unfortunately the Power fans arent of the Magpie ilk and did jump off the struggling ship. Having said that i too didnt want to pay to see the sideways, backward crap style we have used. My hope is that Ken makes the boys kick the ball forward. Adelaide Oval may be the catalyst to a revival but the onus will be on the playing group and coaching staff to play a brand of football worth paying money to see. They have a year to get it right or you will probably be saying "told you Wristy".

Well not only have we not improved but we have gone backwards at a rate of knots!!!!
7 wins last year only 5 so far this year that's only 12 wins in 38 games!!!

Also of concern is how big the losing margins have been which is evident in our woeful percentage.

After great recruiting for the 2010 & 2011 seasons picking up players like Liddle, Cross, Wundke, Gotch ect the last 2 years have been disappointing with no real standouts!

Can't see any reason why things will change for next season.

Nothing will change.

Recruiting has been shocking for the past 2 years.

No one seems to be accountable either so 2014 looks like another hard year :(

We need a coach who is more in touch with the modern game.

I think the club should be giving the Gowan boys a ring and see if they have any interest in coaching.

i hope so.

Cos swapping coaches without fixing the underlying issues has got you soooo far in the past 'x' years hasn't it?

Seriously PP, do you think it's the coach, or the issue surrounding keeping and attracting players in the first place (ie, NOT the coach!). The coach has changed over the years but the problem still exists. So simply, changing coaches doesn't fix problems from above!

Fuller was appointed to fix this issue . The so called underlying issue you talk about .

It's been 4 years and problem not fixed ... So who is responsible for that and who gets paid full time to fix it ?

He's the leader and after 4 years nothing has changed at all. We have gotten worse ! ... And not looking to get any bloody better either !! :(

South should have a natter to the guy who recommended hiring Fuller. Apparently his office is pretty close to Ronnie's.

I think South and Centrals, being the only 2 clubs with any integrity left, should form their own league. At least South could finish 2nd every year ;)
