As per the quote and as per the Power website joining of the teams would not affect the on field operations of the clubs, with only administration and off field management merging. "It's commercial and administrative rather than football."
http://www.portadelaidefc.com.au/news/n ... fault.aspx

This is not a commercial matter nor is it administration matter - it is the Power recruiting a player for the Port Magpies which is a football matter and against the agreement with the SANFL and other clubs.

Any of the assistance for a support network provided by the Power can be provided by them to any SANFL club surely?

Of course protecting the best interests of a person would be considered underhanded in some cold hearted circles.

Precedent determines any answers given on this subject will not be accepted. So I'll simply say I'm ecstatic that Port Adelaide is maximizing its use of its SANFL division. Goes a small way to make up for the disgraceful SANFL enforced exile to Etheton.

Don't be upset old fella . Port fans/board members seem to get quite stroppy when you make them accountable these days. Don't take it personally.

It's been a bunch of smoke and mirrors at alberton for the last 5 years. They usually end up justifying it in their heads by trying to blame the sanfl for something they did 20 years ago.

The usual contradiction is if SANFL supporters mentions Port treachery in the past we get told we have "long memories".

AFl teams in SA = inevitable success.

West Adelaide given a recruiting ban from 5pm today until December 31 2013. Unable to register players from outside their zones so what happens to their already announced recruits?

Makes you wonder why some of the other clubs with more spending money don't exploit the rule. Pay $49999 over the cap, cop a 50k fine and by the time the sanfl gets around to handing down recruiting penalties, you can still grab a share of recruits.

I wonder what the penalty would have been if West fluked the flag?

P. S. Port still able to recruit Jurrah I see.

Yes Port Adelaide will, they are looking at picking him up for 2014 so him going to another sanfl club wouldn't effect that

With Mitch Clisby being drafted from North Adelaide, will that now give the Roosters a bit more room to get Jay Nash from Central?

That's what I hear. You work for the PAFC, you play for the PAFC.

Perhaps you can provide a link to the agreement and the elements of it that have been breached - prior to any arrangement being set up of course.

Surely if Jurrah plays for the Magpies and his playing salary is under the cap there's no complaints with that component of it ?

Surely if the Power give him a community development role as stated and pay him for that, it would get audited to confirm he's being paid valid market rates for the role.... just like I'm sure the Centrals players that land in jobs at Tom Zorich SportsPower have their contracts audited to confirm they are getting paid valid rates in line with the hours they do.

Can you highlight the differences....

Oh timmie oh timmie

May make sense but once again 'your management' signed an agreement and it was voted in on the basis these type deals weren't going to happen.

Seems to be a PAFC mentality, sign something so you can get what you want at the time and then conveniently forget the t&c's attached to the signed documents. They wonder why the recieve little pity for there financial woes!

One SANFL club CEO is seething (not kris grant) as he asked this exact question about AFL job oppurtunities being used to recruit Magpie players, he was assured these type deals would not be done.

Pretty certain we won't see the Magpies recruiting any players from this club in the near future.

Again - if jurrahs salary is under cap and any role with power is paid at market rates whats your issue?

Does tom zorich employ players from west adelaide..... because in in article a couple posts up KT says where Slattery plays is an issue for him but he will be employed by port (regardless). You would imagine its the same for Jurrah.... or are you against the power employing footballers.

We are about to sign an ex AFL listed player as a replacement for Clisby. Despite some "fruitful" discussions some time back, Nash is not coming to Prospect.
