I am one who believes in the 'fairy story' so would like to offer and different perspective without getting too religious hopefully.

God tells me in the bible that homosexuality is wrong, however he tells me a crapload of things are wrong, many of which it do countless times every day. Therefore who am I to judge?

God also says in the bible that church should remain separate from state. To this end I don't really see what the problem is with civil gay marriage. Churches can still refuse to conduct same sex marriages if that is what they want.

To me marriage without God is worthless, but that is my belief only and it shouldn't be forced on others through law by the state.

To many Christians get caught up in the 'right & wrong' debate IMO, handing out what they believe is 'God's judgement' and spreading a message of hatred and division which is exactly the opposite of what the big fella upstairs actually wants.

Well said ginger. More people who have religious beliefs need your attitude.

Gay marriage - know, as marriage means a union between man and woman.

Arent gay couples already recognized as DeFacto partners if in that case? Why do people need paper work?

IVF treatment for gay couples - no. Potential bullying is way to big of a risk IMO

lol, perhaps we address the bullying then.

All evidence shows that children of same sex parents grow up just like children of heterosexual parents, and realistically they are better equipped to deal with bullying because the parents are on the front foot about it.

Didn't think you'd be one to cherry-pick!

It might be a good argument if children of heterosexual parents didn't also suffer from gender identity disorder.

I think the bullying issue is irrelevant. Do we stop redheads from having kids because they might get picked on? Do we prevent fat parents having kids because their kids may grow up fat and get bullied? I think saying they shouldn't be able to have kids is just a mask for covering up other insecurities the poster may have

i voted yes... i find it amusing that people say the sanctity of marriage is ruined if its a same sex couples are allowed to get married. look at the divorce rate of marriage today... also the celebrities who get married for a day!!! look britney spears and the kardash chick. there mking a joke of it!
my parents are divorced as alot of peoples are!! i am happily married (at the moment  ) and i love the idea of marriage, yes its a piece of paper and can be an expensive day but its one of the best days of my life... and i believe EVERYONE should get the rite too!!!

the churches condemn same sex marriage but some religious sects protect those who wish partake in child molestation! i sure no whats worse!! i like the idea of religion and i certainly respect it, but i think they sometimes have their morals stuffed up!!

But they might force your children to become gay! It'll ruin the sanctity of marriage! Oh noes!

Seriously, who gives a shit what consenting adults do with each other?
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Can a mod change it to say Same Sex Marriage, yes or no...?
I did not mean to offend anyone.
Then followed, so I assume as a response:

Well, originally "gay" meant cheerful or happy - then someone perverted the language.
(I've voted for permitting same sex marriage.)

I believe straight people are the reason to blame.

They keep on having gay kids.....
