I think it's going to be the lightweight classes.

Fedor has retired after defeating Pedro Rizzo in a M-1 Global fight last night. A sad day for MMA and so frustrating that we never saw him compete in the UFC.

Agreed, shame we didn't see him in UFC in his prime, his pride highlights are unbelievable.

Dana White won't be very sad.

Spent all day watching yesterday's and today's shows and prelims. Silva vs Franklin and Ebersole vs Waldburger were good as well as a couple others; the rest was a bit ordinary on a weekend Dana would rather forget.

Now 2 weeks until Sonnen vs Silva II!

Bring on 148 already.

Guida was horrible to watch and the 147 card was so damn bad I didn't even bother with the PPV.

I think the problem over the weekend was too many smaller weight divisions and not enough Main Card fighters in those divisions. Over the 2 days we have seen 8 featherweight fights but only 1 Heavyweight and 0 LHW fights.
I would prefer less cards but full of bigger fighters and would merge 145,135 and 125 into a 140 division.

I often prefer watching the smaller weight classes, nothing worse than seeing the big guys gas in the second round.

The problem is the UFC scheduling a heap of irrelevant fights on a PPV main card, let alone scheduling them as the headliner.

Anyone think Sonnen can get to the fifth round again?

It's been very interesting seeing Silva show a lot of emotion in the lead-up to this fight and I wonder whether Sonnen has gotten under his skin or if it's all part of the hype. Tactically, it's going to be a very interesting fight unless Silva lands a ninja kick to Sonnen's head in the first 30 seconds.

Im wondering the same, wether Silvas going to be so caught up in his hatred for Sonnen that he makes a mistake, or if he channels that anger and really does break every bone in Sonnens body.

im hoping for the latter :)

Hopefully it goes the distance. It certainly won't be one of those boring 5 round Silva fights with Sonnen trying to put him on his back.

Sonnen won't be able to finish Silva. If it goes the distance Sonnen will win on points. If it doesn't it will be because Silva knocks him out or chokes him again.
