Apologies for no Gaelic7s ladder or results - the page corrupted and ive lacked the time/effort to fix it... and as its finals time now who cares!

Good to see, reckon there were a few coaches on their last night with the calculator out figuring out possible scenarios. :-B

I spent a bit of time on the site last night doing the numbers and I have to announce, to everyone's disappointment I'm sure, Flinders Women have no mathematical possibility of making finals. :(

The planning for GF night is the GF is to be played at 8pm with the Dingoes to play an unknown opponent at 6.45 in a curtain raiser of sorts. According to several recent posts it would be a safe assumption that the Flinders girls are now the most popular Gaelic Football team in SA ;) . Perhaps the competition manager should give SA footy net forum posters the match up they want and potentially triple the size of the GF crowd and schedule this match up 8) . One would assume the Dingoes would be more than pleased with this unlikely pairing. By golly you,d have to hope they were pleased with it  It may even be the thing to bring Kang out of his kennel and back from his premature retirement :)

RESULTS FROM TONIGHTS SEMIS FOR GAELC 7s

ONKAS 5.24-39 def FLINDERS SENIORS 0.8-8
ST.BRENDANS 4.something- def NA FIANNA 2.9-15

Next weeks Grand Final will be at 7.30pm between Onkas v St.Brendans with Presentations to follow in the club rooms at 8.30pm. Well done to both teams on excellent seasons and a rematch of last years 7s decider that went to overtime. Hopefully we will get another spirited contest played at the same intensity as last years thrilling finale.

Gaelic Football from Ireland....Pretty sure there isnt a cold weather or rain policy.
Back in the glory days of TK Shutter reserve at Klemzig when playing in winter we played in some of the worst conditions imagineable and in the year of 1996 there was a drainage problem where for about 3 weeks the ground was under water and in some places more than a foot. Till the day i die i will never forget the day the Paringa Woolfhounds with 11 men including 2 off of the street of 4th avenue beat the 17 man Flinders 5 points to 3 in the wettest/heaviest game i have ever encountered. I remember a guy creaming a soccer kick from what could only be described as a pool of water and the ball travelling all of 3-4metres but the 10 players around the ball being blinded by the 15 foot spray of water.
So CT unless there is a flood im afraid you will be playing today....oh yeah and then reffing  enjoy.

The 2012 GFHASA Annual General Meeting will be held at the Irish Club (13-15 Carrington St, Adelaide) on Monday, February 13th, commencing at 6:30pm. The call is now out for committee nominations and proposals for any new state bye-laws.

Clubs or individuals can nominate candidates for positions on the committee, while clubs and the state committee can submit motions. Both nominations and motions must be submitted via email to the state committee secretary (info@gaelicfootballsa.com.au) ASAP.

MOTIONS
Motions submitted at the AGM and voted for by a majority of voting members present, are then taken to the Australasian Secretary for approval. Once approved the motion becomes a state bye-law i.e. a permanent competition rule. This is the best opportunity to make permanent change to the way our association is run and should be considered carefully before doing so.

Before writing a motion, it would be a good idea to look at the existing bye-laws under GFHASA Documents and the GFHA Rule Books on the GFHASA website to ensure that the wording is correct and that it is not contrary to an existing Australasian Rule: http://www.gaelicfootballsa.com.au/Abou ... icies.html

COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS
There are a number of officially elected positions that are voted for at the AGM. These are:

· President

· Vice President

· Secretary

· Assistant Secretary

· Treasurer

· Registrar

· Public Relations (Website Administrator)

Plus, there are also a number of general committee positions available. Once elected to a general committee position, roles relating to the many tasks of running the association are assigned. These roles include:

Events coordinator
Bar coordinator
Underage development coordinator
Sponsorship and grants coordinator
Referees coordinator
Coaches coordinator
Marketing coordinator

General committee member positions are also elected at the AGM. There are many and varied ways to contribute to the running of our competition and everyone can find a role that suits them best. The job descriptions for these roles are attached.

Clubs are reminded that, as per GFHASA bye-laws, every team must nominate at least one member to the 2012/13 committee.

If you have any questions about either nominating for a committee position or submitting a motion, please don't hesitate to contact (info@gaelicfootballsa.com.au).

Flinders with 11 players....decent effort. Two unders in the last minute of the first half and one in the last minute of the game made the margin a lot greater than what it really should have been. Have not had Tony common as ref before but was impressed with the way he controlled the game

Because sevens is the pinacle of gaelic footy in S.A... But all this talk about recruiting and a big chance to play finals and then play with 11 players including a player not from your team is pretty poor.
