Favourite TV Show Christmas episodes

Postby Brucetiki » Fri Dec 23, 2011 11:09 am

Following on from Magpiespower's Favourite Christmas Movie thread, lets see what is everyone's favourite TV Show Christmas episodes.

My top 3

3. Miracle on Evergreen Terrace - The Simpsons - the one Bart burns the tree down and claims it was a thief. Love the scene where Marge is on Jeopardy, finishes on -$4800 and is asked by Alex Trebek to pay up. Always a running joke in our house if anyone finishes the show in the red these days

2. Christmas - Married...with Children - when Al is forced to work as a Santa in the mall to get enough money to buy the family presents (then steals them all from the bar anyway). Love the scene where Marcy is on Santa's/Al's lap, and Jefferson is going down the line-up for Santa mistaking every little boy for Marcy before Marcy gets the kids to sing 'Bundy the No Man' (to the tune of 'Frosty the Snowman).

1. A Very Special Family Guy Freakin' Christmas - Family Guy - where Lois has a nervous breakdown on Christmas Eve. The end of the episode always has me in stitches!
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Nothing beats the Brady Xmas show when they were all older and Mr Brady got stuck in a mine shaft (I bet Robert Reed did tha a few times over the year), all hope was lost but Carol started singing O Come Ole Ye Faithful and he emerged from the rubble. Moving stuff.

I remember as a kid, there was a particular xmas cartoon that seemed to be on every xmas eve around 8.30pm.

Can't remember at all what it was called though.

As a kid I remember the morning cartoons would always go to a Christmas theme shows such as Smurf's, Flinstones and there used to be always a Frosty the Snowman cartoon.

Does anyone remeber that ad where the kid sits on Santas lap and says I want a Fire Engine and a heaps of other things but he says most importantly no fighting at home.

I recall a Family Ties christmas episode which had a bit of a fantasy element to it, where Alex is skeptical about christmas, but then is visited by a ghost or something, and he then sees images of family members as they will look in the future.

If you ever watch the episode, listen very carefully just before Carol is about to sing - the sound of a pitch pipe can be heard clearly just off-set, to give her the right key to start in.

And yet, as bad as it is (and boy, is it ever BAD!) I loved it as a kid.
First ever appearance of Boba Fett too :)

Hardware Wars is a classic!

Spewing I missed Flickerfest's programme of Star Wars spoofs last year.

George Lucas in Love even got the official nod from the man himself.

Then there's this pretty funny Cops spoof...
