Got kicked out the Grand....for wearing a oversized Ripcurl jumper

My mate got refused entry for having shoes that were "too matt"......(not glossy enough.)

Ego trippers!!!!

This was about 1993. ;)

Kicked out the Havelock when I was 14 (who was I trying to kid lol), Heaven and the Lakes I think were the only other places I got the arse from.

Not a nightclub per se, but got asked for ID for proof of age at both the Henley Hotel and the Adelaide Casino when I was 22. Very flattering, but clearly those days are long behind me.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

Only ever got kicked out of a nightclub once. Upstairs at Joplins.

It was after the Crows v North Melbourne game in 1996. I was promised by several other regulars there, free drinks all night if I could get Wayne Carey to grab my boobs (this was not long after the whole "pinchy pinchy" ordeal).

Anyhoo, so I went up to him and said "look, I don't want to be a smart ass but those guys over there have promised me a whole night of free drinks if I can get you to grab my boobs" which he chuckled at - and I could almost taste the all-I-could- drink-illusions as he went to guide me into the back room (some of you may remember this room), when all of a sudden I was grabbed by the scruff of the neck and and led down the stairs by a bouncer...who happened to be my ex-boyfriend. Prick.

So not only did I miss out on getting felt up by the King, I subsequently also missed out on my free night of drinks :(

Ha! I was there that night with some mates, one of whom we dared to grab Carey's tits, which he promptly did with a "Nice tits" quip .. Carey looked pretty disappointed and left the area.

The boys were still laughing about it and my mate was pretty proud of himself, until I said "Uh oh, Carey's back and looks pissed and he has Mick Martin with him" at which point the colour instantly drained from his face.

Thursday nights - earlier days The Crypt in Salisbury also did "the crawl" Sailmaster till close, largs pier till close then night train at the Port till close (6am) then straight to work on Fridays (often with a chuck stop needed on the long drive up port road) :ymsick:
Friday nights - Settlers, Kellys Room at the Clovercrest or the Rape and Pillage :partyman:
Saturday nights were usually spent in town - My place (in 1985 they offered free supper as they were allowed open after midnight lol), that joint on Pirie Street, cant remember the name, near players iirc, The Tunnel, Mansions and then always made it to Jules for more drinks and a wicked breakky before heading off home
RIP my DH 1964 - 2009 - You were one of the best and I miss you

*BUMP*

Just saw this in the messenger.

Plenty they dont mention - like the fact that Jules used to run kickboxing fights out the back of the club in around 94, they never mention The Big Ticket either.

I remember when Jules had the massive white facade with angels on it. It's now where the Woolshed proudly sits.

Speaking of the Big Ticket, in 1992 at its peak the lineup going down those stairs seemed to go on for-bloody-ever.

Anyone remember the Grenfell Tunnel?

The Tunnel was one of my "pre-18" hangouts - you know that safe place that you knew you'd never get caught for being underage  The other one was Lukes on the Parade

We always felt a bit classy when we went to the Ambassadors.

We'd always end up at Jules or Rio's though by 6am. I went straight to footy or cricket many times from one of them.

No mention of the 90s scene can be made without The Village rearing its ugly head.
