Round 16 - WWT V Norwood @ Woodville - 2.10pm Sun 17/7/11

Postby GWW » Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:30 am

The Eagles upset Norwood earlier in the season, however the Redlegs' form has been very good since that clash.

I'll select Norwood to win this one in a tight tussle by 3 goals.

Norwood by 6 goals, with Goddens negative style the Eagles will struggle to kick a winning score. We have a good record at Woodville.

Hopefully this time NW is prepared for the WWT
Last encounter at NW Oval, WWT played loose men behind the ball and defended brilliantly and won easily

NORWOOD MUST MAN UP WITH NUMBER 57 MARK MCKENZIE OTHERWISE HE WILL TAKE A QUOTA OF UNCONTESTED MARKS , AS WELL AS HIS USUAL MARKS
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

If its a shoot out, NW might be to potent, and should win
If its a hard slog, as they have been between these 2 in recent times, WWT will be the slight fav to win

Funny as it may seem , the bigger ground at Woodville suits NW more than the postage stamp Parade ground, when playing WWT

How can you have a 6.5 foot player and not put him in the goal square at any stage when your scoring ability stinks ? The last quarter proves a few things like , when McKenzie and Jarred rolled the dice good things started to happen and Grocke got a little bit of service . Whatever they had intended before and in previous games has been over stating most of these guys ability to execute and the Eagles have to soon face up to reality regarding some of these players ! :o

Eagles are pretty good in the U18s against Norwood. This week the u18s are at Norwood Oval on Friday at 7 pm. Go you Eagles.

With the condition of Coopers Stadium's playing suface after the 6 games played in it in 2 days, is there a possibility this Under 18's fixture could be moved to Woodville as part of a triple header perhaps?

I would hope our u18's would easily account for a side that only managed 1 goal last week. Norwood won by 98 last week and Eagles lost by 118 so a 220pt turnaround would be remarkable

Would be a farcical decision if they did BP, considering noone bothered to move junior games last week when there was actually an SANFL game scheduled there.

That's a very big call Jim05, I would think we would play a lot better this week then we did against the best side in the u18s in Glenelg. As I posted before we have a pretty good record against Norwood in recent years in the u18s I do believe.

The league team needs a win this week at Unleash Solar Oval at Fortress Woodville.

So Norwood fans who deserves a call up to the league side this week, obviously with Jericho and Walker out we need at least 2 to come in. For me id like to see Langford come back in and possibly Will Young. Aishy had a shocker in the first half but played a blinder in the second so he would be in the mix. Dont think Donohue has done enough for a call up. Wouldnt mind if Bass played a couple of u18's either. Very impressed with Nicholas Dinham and jeez Savage is a real goer. Dont think we have anyone returning from injury yet, Hughes only slight chance
