Did this guy get a huge suspended sentence or something several years ago? Used to play for West Augusta?

No this Scott Feltus has played for Western Districts for a long time and is something like a three time Mail Medal winner. The complete opposite to the bloke your'e referring to - Umpires love this bloke.

He's a gun. Always enjoy watching him at the country champs when they play at Berri. Doesn't look like a footballer that's for sure.

Central Zone apparently had 22 players at training at Mallala on Wednesday night which is pretty ordinary. Any info on other zone's turnout?
It must be a nightmare for coaches and selectors to try and lob onto a 25-strong team of committed players when less than half of the squad rocks up for training surely?

Are there suspensions in certain leagues if a players dont make themselves available?

Southern league 2 weeks I think. A few years ago someone pulled out with an injury only to play a pivotal role in his home clubs win the same day. Copped 2 weeks I reckon.

HFL doesn't suspend or penalize anyone. Probably reflects why there is no inter league anymore. Very sad.

The PLFL talks about it for their guys in the EP squad, but they never act on it.

And hey, if someone doesn't want to play, why would you force them?

Either they don't give 100%, or you go pick some other kid who would bust his balls to be there.

Bank mate, Ironbank. ;)

But seriously that is a huge squad!

Ben Yeomans made Port Adelaide Magpies League best players last week. His brother perhaps?

Nah, its him.

He was recruited to the Magpies after gaining All Australian selection and Rookie of the Carnival at last years Country Championships.

Just goes to show that there is something to play for!

I dont think Southern have ever been beaten at Pirie. If they bring anywhere near their best team that will not change.

Southern will win it again because it is basically a suburban side - players from Reynella, Brighton etc in the team. Hard to compete with that for a bunch of farmers, shearers and assorted bushies I reckon

Too true pilot, under what rationale is southern league defined as 'country'...?
