St Pat's day - 2007

Postby MightyEagles » Sat Mar 17, 2007 9:26 am

Today is St Pat's Day, so wear a splash of green and drink some Irish beer. It's ok to drink before 12, cause it's Saturday and lots of people don't work Sunday. Read pg 81 of today's Advertiser, I know the person (wish she was mine).

If I don't get pissed today my 'Mick' mum'll rap a shillelagh round me skull!

By the way, Saint Patrick's Day celebrations originated in the United States (Round New York & Boston)
Created by the plethora of Irish immigrants who came there as a result of amongst other things...
The dreaded 'Potato Famine' in the 1840's.

I'll be sure to knock back a few 'Bushmills' no doubt!
(Even though the famous 'Oldest distillery in Ireland' is in the British controlled North!)
Protestants celebrate March 17th as well!
GO THE GROWL!!!

PJ O Briens last night was packed... managed to get into the upstairs bit without lining up.. mate of ours managed to get a few vip passes... only saw a couple of fights... Rundle Mall was an absolute mess round about 4am on our way to the casino. All in all it was a great day/night.

Breknock was packed, so could not be bothered lining up (3pm) so went to Kings Head for a while. Later on went to Irish club but still line up there. Ended up at Police club till about 10pm - had lots of NYPD blokes there and a few Marylands police who competing in pistol shooting. Got into Irish club after before hiking down the Austral then casino until the wee morning hour of 5am.

I didn't have single drink all day and didn't notice that I'd worn an orange T-shirt all day without thinking about it.

This post concerns me. It is a bit of a worry if anyone at all thinks they have to get pissed to have a good time. I drink beer wine and spirts at times - probably twice a week on average - but have not been even mildly inebriated in over 15 years - longer since I've been hung-over. I know a guy who has alcoholic myopathy - damage to the heart muscle through alcohol abuse. He is 37 and it is expected he'll live about two years if he doesn't get a transplant.
